HIGHLIGHTS OF DISCUSSION<br />

Working Principles as recommended in the<br />

CL2010/1-GP. Malaysia agrees that having<br />

<br />

specific section based on the working principle<br />

would provide clear distinction <strong>and</strong> transparent role<br />

of each party involved.<br />

Malaysia can agree with the proposal to develop<br />

two separate sets of principles for additives <strong>and</strong><br />

contaminants since some of the principles only<br />

apply to contaminants.<br />

Verbal Intervention:<br />

“Malaysia can agree with having separate risk<br />

analysis principles for food additives <strong>and</strong><br />

contaminants to allow independent review in the<br />

future if necessary. However, Malaysia still considers<br />

that it is worth to review the format of the draft<br />

principles for consistency with the structure of the<br />

Working Principles as recommended in the CL2010/1-<br />

GP. Having specific sections based on the working<br />

principle would provide clear distinction <strong>and</strong><br />

transparent role of each party involved”.<br />

Definition of “Hazard”<br />

The Committee considered the request for a revision of<br />

the definition of “hazard” in the Procedural Manual<br />

forwarded by the CCGP.<br />

COMMITTEE'S DECISION<br />

The Committee agreed that there was no<br />

need to revise the current definition.<br />
