As a consequence to the amendment in food category 05.2, the
Committee amended the words “or sweeteners” to read “and
their dietetic counterparts”.
COMMITTEE'S DECISION

medical purposes that were contained in
food category 13.0.
05.2.1 Hard candy; 05.2.2 Soft candy;
05.2.3 Nougats and marzipans:
The Committee added “Halwa teheniaa” in
the descriptor of food category 05.2.2 as
the product complied with the category and
was highly consumed in the Near East
region.
Status of the proposed draft Revision of
Food Category System of the GSFA
(food categories 5.1, 5.3 and 5.4) (N07-
2010)
The Committee agreed to forward the
proposed draft revision of the Food
Category System of the GSFA to the 34 th
Session of the Commission for adoption at
Steps 5/8, with the recommendation to omit
Steps 6 and 7.
