Farmet is the largest producer of agricultural
machines for soil processing and sowing in
the Czech Republic. The Farmet agricultural
machines must meet the strictest criteria for
work quality as well as for reliability and long

Technology for Pressing Vegetable Oils
Farmet is a signifi cant producer of presses
for pressing oil from oilseeds such as the
sunfl ower, rape, soya, fl ax and many other
less known oil plants (Jatropha, sesame, milk
thistle, as well as oil from roses, wine seeds,
strawberry, blackberry etc.).
During 18 years of its existence, Farmet has
developed a whole range of screw presses or
large machines with capacity of up to 20 tons
per hour. Farmet increases the already high
added value of these demanding presses
by its complex approach and plug-and-go
delivery including engineering services.

actuation requires professional abilities

power from 80 to 600 horses.

industry as Farmet has been specializing in
the system of share sowing for several years.

research programme supported by
the TIP project of the Ministry of Industry
and Trade whose object is to theoretically
(mathematically and physically) describe the
processes of pressing in a screw press and
to use the fi ndings in order to increase the
effi ciency of pressing and managing pressing
of other oilseeds which are not so common
and they enable processing soil, placing
seeds and also placing fertilizer in a single
ride.

However, investments always have to be balanced – in research and
development, in production equipment, in workers and in
marketing. Building and developing a production company is very
demanding when it comes to investments and requires continuously
reinvesting most of the profi t in the development of the company.
Farmet has obtained subsidies from European funds that represent
signifi cant help and so Farmet did not have to abandon its
development strategy at the time of the crisis.

The effective technology
TRIOLENT Chisel Cultivators
The machine is suitable for standard stubble
working and cultivating as well as working to
a greater depth than the usual ploughing
depth. The machine is equipped with three
rows of working tines, with ploughshare
spacing of 290 mm which provides for quality
soil working and incorporation of plant
residues with relatively low tensile resistance.
The ploughshares are equipped with a spring
protection with the release power of 450 kg
and they enable working to the depth of
35 cm. When working to the depth of 20 cm,
it is possible to equip the ploughshares with
winglets. For greater depths, it is better to
work without the winglets, which signifi cantly
decreases tensile resistance while keeping
the quality of work.
TRIOLENT provides excellent permeability.
The ploughshare chisels may be equipped
with widia plates that signifi cantly increase
their working life and ensure optimal
geometry during their entire lifespan. There
are levelling discs located behind the
ploughshares that level the soil surface. To
achieve a good surface tilth plus good
compaction of the surface layers, it is
necessary to select a suitable rear roller.
There are 6 types of rollers. In addition to the
depth control of the machine, the roller
ensures good compaction of the soil, braking
clods and levelling the surface. The foldable
version of the machines may also be used
when folded and thus it is possible to use
a less powerful tractor, but still able to work
at the maximal working depth.

DUOLENT Chisel Cultivators
The DOULENT machine is a very universal
cultivator intended for stubble breaking after
harvest or for cultivating up to the depth of
35 cm. The machine is equipped with two rows
of chisel shares that can be supplemented with
winglets for full-area undercut. In this way
stubble ploughing can be done in regular
working depths with a very low labour resistance.
When aerating in greater working depths, it is
possible to work without the winglets so that the
labour resistance of the machine does not
substantially increase and the same driving unit
can be used. When needed, the whole frame can
be disassembled and the total number of
working shares can be decreased, which will
decrease the labour resistance. Folding machines
also allow working in a folded position. Thus, the
work engagement can be temporarily decreased
and very compacted soil where the driving unit
would not otherwise suffi ce with the full work

engagement can be deeply aerated.
The DUOLENT machine is equipped with shares
of time-tested construction secured by a massive
spring with a high release force of 450 kg.
The optimized shape of shares provides a very
low tensile resistance and a great mixing eff ect.
The permeability for plant residues is also very
high as the machine virtually does not get
clogged even under the most diffi cult conditions.
The resulting quality of work is also substantially
infl uenced by the levelling disks behind the
shares. These disks not only level the soil after
the shares, but they also create a fi ne surface
structure. Also, the selection of a proper type
of the rear roller is very important as it largely
contributes to the resulting quality of processing.
The roller consolidates the soil and it also
crumbles and levels it. The selection of the roller
type depends on the type of soil and method
of use of the machine.

The effective technology
FANTOM Cultivators
The FANTOM cultivator is a carried machine
with three rows of shares. The share frames
are formed from spring steel with 35 x 35 mm
cross-section equipped with a special skive
or double-faced chisel. The surface behind
the shares is levelled by an asymmetric comb
harrow with effi cient levelling properties,
spaced wide enough to allow plant residues
to pass through. The tubular roller provides
good compaction of the surface, as well as
precise depth control of the machine.
The FANTOM cultivator is also very universal
thanks to its construction and can be used
for stubble breaking as well as presowing
soil preparation or manure incorporation.
The low weight of the machine decreases
the loading on the rear axle of the tractor
during transportation. Thanks to the simple
and strong construction, the FANTOM
cultivator off ers a compromise between
the acquisition price and use value.

KOMPAKTOMAT Presowing Combinators
The Kompaktomat machines for processing
soil before sowing are a traditional product
of the Farmet Company. The time-tested
conception, massive construction, long
lifesMr. – these are only some of the many
advantages for which the machine is popular
with many customers on both domestic and
European markets.
The Kompaktomat series are intended for
presowing soil processing after harvest.
The machine perfectly levels the soil surface
and processes it to the required depth. The
machine executes 7 operations in total by
a single working pass. The basic frame of the
machine is equipped with a front and rear
roller. The machine rides on these rollers
during work so they are loaded with the
entire weight of the machine. The rollers
compact the ploughed soil very well which
renews the soil capillarity. The suffi cient

weight of the machine provides for quality
compaction even on very hard soils.
There are trail cultivators before the front
roller and a massive levelling bar that provides
the basic levelling of the soil surface.
The levelling bar spreads the furrow ridges
and other unevenness and creates an even
fl at surface which is further processed by
other working bodies of the machine.
The trail cultivators as well as the front
levelling bar can be independently adjusted
against the basic frame of the machine. The
share section is located between the rollers
and it can also be independently adjustable.
This helps us easily obtain the necessary
aerating depth for sowing. The share sections
can be either equipped with chisels in 4 rows
or arrow shares in 2 rows. The second variant
is very popular thanks to its massive
construction and long lifespan of the working
bodies. Arrow shares undercut the full area
of soil and eliminate small weeds.
There is a central leveller behind the arrow
shares that levels small clods. The rear roller
of the Kompaktomat machine may be either
slatted or cast-iron cross-kill roller suitable
for heavier soils. From this year, it is also
possible to use the ring roller and segment
roller which are especially suitable for moist
soils. There is a third leveller behind the rear
roller which defi nitely and precisely levels
the soil surface to almost a perfect plane.
The Kompaktomat machine leaves behind
perfectly processed soil with a created
seedbed. The processed soil is the guarantee
for excellent germination of sown crops,
even the problematic ones such as rape or
sugar beet.

DISKOMAT disk plough-harrows
The Diskomat machine is a compact disk
plough-harrow intended for diff erent types
of stubble breaking and cultivating in
agriculture up to the depth of 18 cm. The
machine is innovative in the overall
construction and design as well as in the
solution of the individual technical nodes
and the use of special material technologies.
That provides the machine with very compact
dimensions (mainly for transport on ground
communications), very low weight and its
favourable distribution onto the working
bodies and particularly very low maintenance
requirements.

The DISKOMAT machine has a very wide use
in diff erent technologies of soil processing.
It is suitable for the execution of standard
stubble-breaking after harvesting crops with
diff erent depths (up to 18 cm) as well as for
diff erent types of further soil processing.
A great advantage of the conception of the
machine is the generally known levelling
eff ect so the machine is also suitable for
presowing soil processing when emphasis is
put on good levelling of the land and quality
soil processing. The use of the double rubbertyred
roller in this type of machine is unique.
It allows a great compactness of the machine
as well as extraordinary high quality of work.
The double rubber-tyred roller provides
high-quality reverse soil compaction and
levelling and creates favourable surface
structure. The double rubber-tyred roller
includes an integrated transport axle with
braked wheels. The location of the axle
ensures a favourable position of the machine
centre of gravity during work and provision
of the maximal down pressure on the
individual rows of discs. This is very important
for the reliable work of the machine even

The EXCELENT Premium sowing machines
are the second generation of share sowing
machines using the system of front and rear
rollers, which provide not only precise depth
guidance of sowing shares but also effi cient
soil processing. The result is excellently
equable vegetation even in dry years, when
the sowing is done to dry lumpy soil. The
front rubber-tyred roller in combination with
digital skidding excellently levels and
solidifi es the soil.
The digital skid spreads lumps under wheels,
so more than 90% of lumps are crushed
already in front part of the machine.

MONSUN Pneumatic Sowing Machines
MONSUN MA (3; 4; 4,5 m coverage)
The design determines the machine for small
and medium areas. Its main advantage is the
location of the gravity centre near the tractor,
which decreases the driving unit power
requirements. The required power ranges from
44 kW at the working coverage of 3 m to 66 kW
at the working coverage of 4.5 m. The machine
is easily connected by 3-point linkage directly
to the tractor or to the soil-processing machine.
In the working position, the machine is semisupported
by own wheels.
MONSUN MB (3; 4; 4,5 m coverage)
The sowing machine is intended as an extension
to active and passive machines for preparation
of all types of soil. Connected with the rotation
cultivator, it creates especially powerful
combination which manages the soil preparation
and sowing in single working operation

is realised quickly and simply by means of
a quick-linkage device.
MONSUN MC (3; 4 m coverage)
It is intended for combining with rotation
harrows. It is suitable for preparation of soil and
sowing in single working operation. The seed
hopper is located above the rotating harrows,
thus optimising the position of the gravity
centre and decreasing the required lifting force.
On the rotating harrows there are installed
adjustable and hydraulically controlled markers.
The machine is fi tted with new mechanism for
opening the hopper which enable full opening
of the hopper during bag fi lling.
MONSUN MD (6; 8 m coverage)
Low weight, high hopper capacity and working
width of 6 to 8 m predetermine this machine for

high performances at low costs. The
advantageous position of the gravity centre
reduces the need of drive force (working
coverage 6 m from 70 kW). The sowing machine
is fi tted with two hoppers and two seeding
mechanisms with drive fi rmly integrated into
the axle wheels.
MONSUN ME (5; 6; 8 m coverage)
The main advantage of the machine is hydraulic
folding to 3 m transport width and thus it is
suitable also for aggregation with machines for
the soil preparation. The shoe carrier is
hydraulically foldable together with the
markers, irrigation springs or other auxiliary
options without the need of any manual
intervention of the operator. The sowing
machine itself is directly aggregated to the
tractor and delivered in working widths of 5, 6
and 8 m.
MONSUN MF (3; 4 m coverage)
Combination of front-mounted seed (or
fertilizer) hopper and rear-mounted seeding
units. The sowing machine can be combined
with various soil-preparation machines.
Additionally, the front part can be used for
auxiliary fertilization in combination with
sowing machine for precise seeding.
A substantial advantage of the machine is the
even distribution of weight to the tractor, which
decreases the power requirements by 20 %.

The unit is suitable for light types of soils
with low content of plant residues. The closing
plate prevents its blocking during reverse
movements. It properly crosses obstacles, such
as stones and/or bats.

The X seeding units are designed to conventional
or minimizing sowing for mulching in heaviest
soils with high content of plant residues. The
mutual displacement and turning of disks
enables seeding during dry climatic conditions
as well as under increased soil humidity. The
housing of discs prevents blocking of seeds,
sticking of soil to the disks and their subsequent
stopping.
Variant II:
Disc shoe
The unit is suitable for heavier soils. Its benefi t is
good permeability and it also manages higher
content of plant residues.
Pneumatic Seeding System
Pneumatic sowing machines are used
not only for seeding of common cereals
(wheat, rye, barley, oats) but also for
legumes and oleaginous crops (pea, beans,
bean pod, corn, soya-beans, oilseed rape
etc.) and even grasses from 1 mm to 10 mm.
ORIGINAL ACCORD
Central batch is the core of the system. It
enables maximum precise batch of the seeds
within the range of 2–380 kg per hectare. The
central fully closed seeding roll accurately
measures the seed and feeds it into an injector
channel where it is mixed with air fl ow from
fan; then it continues through the diff usion
tube into the distributor and further through
the seed-ducts into the individual seeding
units. There are only minimum residual seeds
in the hopper and they may be discharged by
means of auxiliary discharging fl ap.

In spring 2009, I had the opportunity to try out the Excelent Premium 8
share sowing machine at my farm for the fi rst time. We tested the versatility
of the machine and its ability to level soil and prepare the seedbed in
a fi eld with several farming products and several methods of soil
processing including ploughing. I was impressed by the possibility to add
fertilizer to the seeds in the strips and with the possibility to use a divided
hopper of the sowing machine. The hopper is the largest one in this
category of sowing machines. We tried diff erent sowing machines
of various makes, such as Väderstad Rapid and Spirit, Pöttinger Terrasem
or Accord MSC. I also saw the Horsch, Kuhn and Lemken sowing machines
at my neighbours. However, we found the Farmet Excelent Premium
sowing machine to be the most interesting. In summer and autumn last
year, we tested the machine also on rape and winter wheat. We added
fertilizer to these crops, both standard urea and the UREA Stabil
nitrogenous fertilizer.
The fertilizer batch was from 50 to 300 kg/ha. The excellent quality of work
under dry conditions last autumn and the prime growth convinced us and
thus I bought the machine for my farm last year. This year we sowed spring
barley by the new technology, directly to the gross furrows without prior
processing with a single application of the nitrogen batch with the seeds
in the strips for the entire vegetation period. Once again, we tried standard
urea as well as UREA Stabil and other fertilizers, including mixed ones.
Thanks to the technology and early sowing, our yield exceeded net 8 t/ha.
Winter wheat then ranged from 10 t/ha. The application of fertilizer on
the same horizon with the seeds seems to be a very interesting solution to
us. It does not increase the tensile resistance of the sowing machine and
the sowing share only uncovers soil to the sowing depth. The technology
allows earlier operation in our heavier soils and reaching higher yields for
spring barley, which is one of our main crops. We are thinking of increasing
the working coverage of Excelent Premium from 6 to 8 meters in the
following season in order to increase the capacity of the set and to ensure
the fulfi lment of proper agricultural deadlines.

Our farm manages 430 hectares of arable land. Before purchasing any
sowing technology, we decided to test the Excelent Premium 6 machine
by Farmet and to compare it with a similar type by Amazone. In autumn
2009, we executed the trial sowing and we decided to purchase
the machine for our farming needs with regard to the positive results. One
of the greatest advantages is the system of front and rear rollers ensuring
precise depth control of the sowing shares which helps us obtain evenly
germinated growths with the same sowing depth in the entire working
coverage and thus the entire area sown. Also, the machine can also sow in
soil that is not easily processed, such as after ploughing, in a single passing
and it also gives excellent results under more humid conditions and in
heavy soils.
We use the Excelent Premium 6 machine for sowing various crops in
spring, such as barley, pea or soya, and in autumn for wheat and rape. We
have used the machine for sowing on an area of about 700 hectares. The
actual operation under actual soil conditions clearly shows the low
demands of the machine for service also thanks to the service-free
movable parts. The operators thus focus their time mainly on productive
work. Thanks to the low tensile resistance, the machine also signifi cantly
contributes to fuel savings in the order of tens of percent depending on
the tractor. The short construction provides excellent tracing, small
turning radius at the headland and thus better processing of the entire
area to the edges while minimizing screening.
The provision of service by Farmet as well as the cooperating company
Navos is at a professional level. We will defi nitely address Farmet from
Česká Skalice before buying other machines planned for 2011.

We perform thorough analyses before buying any machines, not only the
ones for soil processing. The analyses are executed both in the phase of
technical execution, getting to know the seller and on the basis of the
available study materials concerning the machine. Furthermore, we learn
about the machine on the site during the presentation. We decided to buy
the “Excelent Premium 6” sowing machine on the basis of our long-term
experience, economic and fi nancial calculations as well as visits
of referential places with diff erent sowing machines (since 2007). On the
basis of the information obtained and experience of four participating
companies (Amazone, Farmet, Sulky, Väderstad), we decided to buy
Excelent Premium 6 from Farmet, a traditional Czech producer from Česká
Skalice. We used it for sowing barley and corn in spring or cereals and rape
in autumn on an area of 400 hectares within the test run.
Our decision was also based on the pleasant ratio of the capacity and
price. From the practical point of view, we appreciated the excellent
results of working in heavier soils and soils that are more diffi cult
to process. Namely, crumbling clods under very dry conditions is perfect
thanks to the combination of the digital leveller and front wheels. The rear
double rubber-tyred roller ensuring full-area compaction immediately
after sowing eliminated the need for following passing which saves both
land and fuel. Fuel is also saved thanks to the construction of the machine,
particularly the low tensile resistance. We are very glad that the producer
also took into account the practical operating requirements when
constructing the machine. And the management of JIZERKA also
appreciates the helpfulness and openness of the production company as
well as the promptness and approach of the service department. In future,
we would like to cooperate on further development and improvement
of these sowing machines. We will most likely approach Farmet in case of
future replacement of worn-down machines. Also, the cooperation with
Fomex Team, Farmet’s business representative, has been very helpful and
professional and we will refer to this company in relation to the solutions
of our requirements.

I take care of 270 hectares for my private agricultural activity and I also use
the machine to provide services. I chose the machine for presowing preparation
and sowing on the basis of good references in this area and the
evaluation of successfully established growths from 2009. Our company,
NAVOS FARM TECHNIC, s. r. o., is an active seller of Farmet machines.
We are very happy with the reliability of the machines, their high capacity
and interesting acquisition price. As providers of services in agriculture,
we appreciate the universal use of the sowing machine. Namely the ability
to prepare soil independently of the variability of soil or humidity
conditions predetermines this machine to trouble-free establishment
of growths. The versatility of the machine lies namely in the possibility
of establishing strip or area growths and we have also been successfully
using the option of easy application of granulated fertilizers on the same
level as the seeds.
We appreciate the economic operation of aggregated tractors based
on the low tensile resistance and lower weight thanks to the lightweight
frame of the machine. We have verifi ed that the lightweight is not at
the expense of performance or quality of work. We use the machine
technologically for spring sowing of barley, pea, snow pea, soya, corn
and for autumn sowing of wheat and rape and other crops. We purchased
the Excelent Premium 6 sowing machine at the beginning of 2010 and
we have already sown more than 1,000 hectares (out of which 300 hectares
of summer wheat). Based on the popularity of these machines and well
established growths, the representatives of our company are planning
to sell 3 to 5 pieces of these sowing machines in the territory in 2011. We
are convinced that Farmet machines compare to the greatest competition
on the market, such as Lemken, Väderstad or Horsch.

We have had good experience with technology by Farmet. Since 2000, we
have owned the Farmet BSK 600 sowing machine and we are satisfi ed
with it. We only manage seven hundred hectares but we have started
off ering services to neighbouring farms. To maximally use our effi cient
Fendt 936 tractor, we decided to buy the Farmet Excelent Premium 8
sowing machine. This decision was partially based on the patriotism to
Czech products, but mainly on the good experience with the Farmet make
from previous years and particularly the distinct advantages of the sowing
machine. Under our conditions, the machine can process 100 hectares
daily at the working speed of 15 km per hour and consumption of 4–6 l/ha.
This consumption is also based on the use of a modern tractor with
a variable gearbox. We sow a wide range of crops, such as winter rape
and wheat, spring barley, mustard, soya, pea as well as fl ax and corn.
Even though Excelent Premium cannot obtain the precise spacing such as
special corn sowing machines, it is suffi cient for our purpose as we only
sow corn for feeding purposes and on small areas. We have sown 1,500
hectares of diff erent crops under diff erent conditions with the machine,
both in stubble breaking and after ploughing. We appreciate the versatility
of the machine, its ability to level soil and create a seedbed in one passing.
The machine has great permeability for plant residues and it does not clog
even when used on soils that are more diffi cult to process. We also like the
resistance of the machine to sticking when working in moist soils. Many
companies in our surroundings cannot sow with their machines when it is
wet but we continue working and help them. At the beginning of the year
we also purchased a new chisel cultivator, Turbulent 5 by Farmet. This
machine also has several advantages and it can work under extreme
conditions and deliver high quality of work. We were the fi rst ones to
fi nish fi eld work in our region thanks to the intense use of the cultivator
and the Excelent sowing machine and could thus provide our services
to the neighbours.

Before buying the sowing machine, we decided to execute test sowing to
verify and compare the off ers of individual buyers. During 2009, we tested
three machines by Lemken, Sulky and Farmet under various conditions.
The execution of the seedbed diff ered and that infl uenced the quality
of the germinated growths. On the basis of the comparison of our
experience and obtained results, we decided to buy Excelent Premium
with the 6-metre coverage by Farmet. The growths established by this
machine are even, also in more humid soil and soil that is more diffi cult
to process. The possibility to apply granulated fertilizer together with
the seeds is a technological advantage.
We bought the machine in spring 2010 and we have used it for sowing
on an area of about 700 hectares out of 950 hectares we own. We mainly
focus on spring barley and other cereals, poppy, pea and rape. In 2011,
we would also like to test the new product, Diskomat 6, in our fi elds thanks
to the good experience with Farmet we have. We like the quality of
processing of this machine by the Czech company which is comparable
to the western competition. As for operation, the smooth cooperation
with the FOMEX Team, a service organization, is an advantage.

Our fi rm cultivates 600 hectares of soil and we provide agricultural services
on another 300 hectares every year. We need to cultivate these areas with
suffi ciently effi cient and reliable machines. Thus, we bought the Duolent
DX 300 N chisel cultivator in 2009. We operate this machine with a New
Holland TE 190 tractor, with the power suffi cient also for pulling Duolent
at a working speed of 8–10 km/h during deep cultivation as well (28–30 cm).
Deep cultivation is an important operation for us as our target is to
decrease the frequency of ploughing by using cultivators. Duolent has
fulfi lled our expectations and using the machine instead of a plough
allows us to reach double output (20–25 ha/8 hours) and decrease the fuel
consumption almost by 40 %!
Further advantages are the fi ne lump creation and the evenness of the soil
surface thanks to the levelling disks. We were surprised at Duolent’s very
good handling of a big amount of plant residues, its eff ectiveness
destroying large weeds and its great mixing eff ect without clogging the
space between the ploughshares.
I have to mention two further advantages of the Duolent machine: fi rstly
the spring security of shares, which allows continuous work even in hard
soil conditions and secondly the widia plates on the top shares which
have got an excellent wearing quality. Duolent is not the only one Farmet
machine we have – our fi rm has been operating the carried Kompaktomat
K 400 NS for ages with satisfaction.

Our agricultural company, AGRO-MAYS, based in Sanniki (Mazovia
Province) cultivates 420 hectares of arable land, out of which about 130
hectares is sown with corn, 50 hectares with sugar beet and about 80
hectares with rape. The remaining area is used for cereals, namely wheat.
We saw the Duolent cultivator by Farmet for the fi rst time at a presentation
in fi eld conditions near the city of Płock. At that time we were looking for
a solution that would replace the traditional disk harrow, particularly
in cultivating fi elds with cereals and rape. We expected the new machine
to provide proper aeration and stubble breaking as well as the possibility
to cultivate greater working depths that would eliminate ploughing so
that we could use plough-free sowing.
The results of the DX 300 N machine convinced us and so we bought the
machine in June 2010, equipped with a double roller with the working
coverage of 3 m. we aggregated the machine with the VALTRA tractor
with the power of 140 horses and we processed about 200 hectares. It
works very well in our soil and moisture conditions. The soil was properly
aerated and stubble broken with higher capacity and lower fuel
consumption. The required eff ect in the fi eld was also obtained by
processing soil in a corresponding working speed, which is 10–12 km/h in
our case. The machine is standardly equipped with shares with reinforced
chisels that penetrate soil easily. We also use the possibility to disassemble
the winglets or entire shares to adjust the machine to actual soil conditions
or aerating depth. The level of wear and tear of the shares after processing
200 hectares is satisfactory. We also plan to test Duolent in processing
corn stubble fi eld. We believe that the machine will continue working
without any defects and for a long time.

We cultivate about 450 hectares in the Transdanubian region in Vas
county. The main crops we grow are winter wheat, barley, rape and
sunfl ower. Our fi rst Farmet machine was a K 600 PS II which arrived at our
farm in 2007. We were very satisfi ed with this seedbed preparer so since
then we have been taking the Farmet machine assortment into
consideration when purchasing new machinery. Stubble breaking was
done with a traditional disc harrow at our fi rm in the past. We knew the
harmful eff ects of disc harrows on the soil, so we decided to search for
other, more eff ective ways.
In 2009, on the basis of good experience with another Farmet machine,
we bought a Turbulent 3 machine which changed our soil cultivation
methods radically. We operate the Turbulent with a Massey Ferguson 8460
tractor for stubble breaking with an approximate working depth of 18 cm.
The average fuel consumption is 9–10 l/ha, which is 4–5 litres less than
that of our old disc harrow. It is very important that Turbulent has got
a very intensive mixing eff ect, the machine can handle the plant residues
well and the rear double rubber-tyred roller consolidates the soil so that it
is compact and levelled. In the past we had to use a roller with another
tractor for this work. This year we are going to use the cultivator instead
of our plough for the fi rst time and we are sure that the quality of the work
will be excellent similarly to the experience of other farmers.

In summer 2009, we tested the Terrano cultivators by Horsch and Triolent
by Farmet in our company. We evaluated the practical results of soil
processing by both machines as comparable and of the same quality. We
decided for the Farmet Company on the basis of our experience with two
machines of the same make as well as due to the fact that it is a Czech
product and due to the off ering price.
At present, we cultivate 400 hectares of arable land out of the total 770
hectares. We purchased the Triolent TX 300 N machine in September 2010,
equipped with a rear double roller. We have processed 95 hectares so far.
In spring, we are planning to use the machine for the preparation of about
10 hectares in an erosion-protected zone and then for other areas before
sowing rape and cereals, which we process up to the depth of 17 cm
at regular working speed.
Triolent is the third machine by Farmet we have bought. The fi rst one was
the G 300 N share breaker-up. Due to the rocky land we had to equip
the machine with an automatic share spring protection after fi ve years,
which upgraded the machine to GX 300 N.
The need for creating a higher quality seedbed forced us to purchase the
Kompaktomat K 450 PS I/A presowing combinator. We have owned
it since 2007 and we are now planning to add other equipment to it:
the rear additional cross-kill roller, which is better for disintegrating
the dry ploughed-up autumn soil.

Our company was established after transformation of the former Kusowo
Agricultural Works in 1989, which used to be the largest agricultural
company in the territory of the former Bydgoszcs province. At present, we
cultivate 1,050 hectaers. The machinery included large as well as quite
modern machines.
In mid-90s, we had to purchase new machines for soil cultivation. In 1996
we decided to buy the GX 300 N share breaker-up by Farmet with regard
to the experience of other satisfi ed users and in 1998 we bought the
Kompaktomat K 600 PS presowing combinator. As a signifi cant producer
of sugar beet, we thus acquired a reliable machine that enables us to work
in the depth of 1 – 2 cm and that can be also used for cultivating fi elds
with rape, cereals or corn.
We appreciated the reasonable purchase price of the machine as well as
the off er of spare parts. The 3-year guarantee provided by our dealer from
Bydgoszcz was a signifi cant incentive.
After using the machine for several years, I have to recognize the high
quality of the Farmet machines as well as their low operating costs. The
proof of the long lifespan and of our satisfaction is the fact that we have
not replaced the GX 300 N plough-harrow for the larger GX 460 NS after
9 years and Kompaktomat K 600 PS for the newer K 600 PS after 12 years.
We received the 3-year guarantee for the new machines from our
dealer again and he also bought out the older machines from us for a very
good price.

Our farm operates on arable land with the surface of 3.400 hectares. When
we modernized our technological fl eet, we considered many off ers
of producers and suppliers mainly on the principle of “Price is Quality”.
We wanted suffi ciently effi cient machines for good purchase price.
The machines from the Czech producer, Farmet, came out good from this
comparison. We bought Kompaktomat K 600 in 2008 and we have been
using it for soil processing ever since. The machine works on the average of
1,500 hectares of arable land annually for various presowing processing.
The machine has worked on 4,500 hectares since we bought it.
During the operation we have acquired enough work experience to state
that Farmet machines provide excellent results in the quality of the seedbed
preparation and generally in the overall technological procedure. As for
Kompaktomat K 600 PS
the technical operation, these machines require minimum service and are
very reliable and resistant to wear and tear. We use Kompaktomat K 600
for soil preparation as well as for spring and autumn works before sowing
sugar beet, corn, rape and cereals.

Our farmstead is very large; we work 15,000 hectares of arable land which
places high demands mainly on the performance and lifesMr. of the
machines used. We used several types of machines in the past; however,
we were also interested in modern Czech machines within the
modernization of our technological fl eet. We bought the fi rst Kompaktomat
K 600 PS from Farmet as soon as in 2002 thanks to good references. With
regard to the very good results on the processed area, we gradually
purchased other machines of the same type. Today, we are using 5 of
them and each Kompaktomat K 600 PS processes at least 3,000 hectares
per year. To increase the output, we also purchased K 930 PS, which we
use for at least 4,000 hectares per year. Large areas put high demands on
thoroughly processed surface and following high-quality establishment
of crop growth.
In this regard, we consider the properties of Farmet machines to be
excellent; we particularly appreciate the high-quality soil preparation
for sowing, accuracy of the seedbed and perfect soil levelling. Also,
the incorporation of plant residues and weed plants is excellent.
The quality of the machine construction is great; there has not been
a single crack or damage in the frame construction caused by the tensile
resistance in the machine coverage. We permanently use all Kompaktomat
K 600 PS machines in combination with the Kverneland DT – 6 sowing
machine. We also use all of the machines for soil preparation for sowing
sugar beet and corn for grains.

We needed to reinforce our machinery fl eet in order to process 2,300
hectares of arable land. We usually execute spring presowing preparation
for barley, corn, sugar beet or rape and poppy as well as autumn
preparation for cereals or rape. We started using Kompaktomat K 800 PS
in 1997 which contributed to our decision to also take into account
the Farmet machines in addition to Lemken or Strom-export. We are very
pleased with Kompaktomat when it comes to reliability and operating
resistance. Soil processing and levelling is completely suffi cient.
The service provision by the Navos Company and their approach is
also decent.
Kompaktomat K 1570 PS
We bought the new K 1570 PS machine in spring 2009 and we have
processed about 5,000 hectares with it so far.
In 2011, we would like to try the new product - Diskomat 8 – and if
the results are suffi cient, we might be interesting in buying the machine.
