PRESS RELEASE
New customer in Portugal
05 November 2010
For immediate release
Navex, the largest shipping agent in Portugal, is soon to implement Softship’s
ALFA agency suite in order to take advantage of the efficiencies this software
application delivers. Navex has opted for a tailored package that comprises
the LINE (operations), CMC (equipment control), AIDA (accounting), SIBIA
(business intelligence) and EDI GUARD (administration) modules.
The introduction of the ALFA software will streamline the processes within
Navex’s business units that include forwarding, liner and port agency services,
and the management of project cargo. Currently, Navex handles liner services
from Portugal, North and South America, Africa and the Far East and
represents major carriers including Softship clients such as MACS, OPDR and
Transinsular. The company operates a network of branch offices and partners
in Portugal as well as in the Islands of Madeira and the Azores. It is envisaged
that the Softship applications will be rolled-out across this network once
implementation is underway.
Navex attributes part of its current success to utilising the power of information
technology and leading the way in data processing. Its new partnership with
Softship will enhance this position and contribute to further success in the
future.
