va<strong>in</strong> boast<strong>in</strong>g of Roman priests, who are, of all men,<br />

<strong>the</strong> most egotistical, arrogant and presumptious. Not<br />

only do <strong>the</strong>y claim to have received <strong>the</strong> keys of <strong>the</strong><br />

k<strong>in</strong>gdom of heaven, and to possess power to open and<br />

shut at pleasure <strong>the</strong> celestial gates, but also to hold<br />

<strong>the</strong> key of knowledgeI If we are to believe <strong>the</strong>m,<br />

<strong>the</strong>y only possess true learn<strong>in</strong>g; and all educational
