ana<strong>the</strong>mas of an ignorant clergy.<br />

faith, which we before expounded, condemn<strong>in</strong>g all<br />

heretics, by whatsoever name called, hav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>deed<br />

different faces, but hav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir tails bound toge<strong>the</strong>r<br />

by a common agreement <strong>in</strong> falsehood, one with<br />

ano<strong>the</strong>r. And be<strong>in</strong>g condemned, let <strong>the</strong>m be left to<br />

<strong>the</strong> secular powers present or <strong>the</strong>ir bailiffs, to be punished<br />

with due animadversion; if clergymen let <strong>the</strong>m<br />

first be degraded from <strong>the</strong>ir orders, so that <strong>the</strong> goods<br />

of persons thus condemned, if of <strong>the</strong> laity, may be<br />

confiscated; if of <strong>the</strong> clergy, <strong>the</strong>y may be devoted to
