properly met, tend to develop energy of character,<br />

and give courage, strength and fortitude to <strong>the</strong> soul¥"<br />

<strong>in</strong>supportable gloom settles down like an <strong>in</strong>cubus<br />

upon my spirit; life becomes a dreary wilderness, a<br />

barren desert without an oasis."<br />
