4 securitas solutions Securitas USA has provided security services at the mix-use Forest City Enterprises development for the past 12 years. Duties include reception services at Commerce Court, one of Station Square’s commercial buildings, and security at the property’s main loading docks. Regular foot patrols are conducted in public areas, including the hotel and marina, and Securitas USA officers patrol streets and parking lots in vehicles aroundthe-clock. “There’s an active nightlife here,” says Paul Wolak, security director at Station Square. “All sorts of special events and live concerts are held on weekends, particularly during the summer, and 16 establishments serve alcohol. That attracts the young crowd.” Bradford School, a junior business college with 400 students, is located in Station Square, and the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University are nearby. “Our security issues here mostly involve dealing with disorderly people,” Wolak adds. “But Securitas USA officers do a good job and coordinate closely with local police, who help us on weekends.” the Mall at robinson Nine years ago, when The Mall at Robinson opened, Robinson Township, located 12 miles west of Pittsburgh, had a population of slightly more than 12,000 people. Since that time, the population has grown dramatically, and the Forest City Enterprises property has emerged as the area’s commercial hub and center of community activities. The 870,000-square-foot mall features 130 stores and many special events throughout the year. “I began working here when the mall was still under construction,” says Tina Beck, Securitas USA captain, “so I’ve seen a lot of changes.” Beck supervises from two to five Securitas USA
