Santa. During the summer, free movies are shown
on a 50-foot screen every Thursday night, and a
Farmers Market featuring 25 to 30 vendors sell
their fresh produce every Saturday morning.
“Our primary security objective here is to provide
a safe, secure and friendly environment where
people can enjoy themselves,” says Bouley.
“Customer service is a big part of that, and effectively
interacting with consumers and tenants.”
Securitas USA officers provide continuous foot
and vehicle patrols of Crocker Park’s retail and
residential areas, as well as bicycle patrols during
the summer months. Officers also serve as first
responders in the event of emergencies, and are all
certified in CPR, AED and First Aid.
“We know almost all of the shopkeepers and store
clerks, and respond immediately when they call,”
says Securitas USA Officer Nicole Crissman. “Their
requests range from assisting customers with
minor ‘slip and fall’ injuries to encouraging loiterers
to move on.”
Other security responsibilities include traffic
control and parking enforcement. Even though
Crocker Park offers 4,500 free parking spaces,
parking meters line the retail streets and Securitas
USA officers are authorized to issue parking citations.
Every evening beginning at 6 p.m., security
is augmented by the Westlake Police Department
to help maintain a safe nighttime environment.
“There’s activity going on here 24 hours a day,”
adds Bouley. “Our security program is effective
because the Securitas USA team and law enforcement
communicate, respect each other’s roles, and
work together to make this a safe and secure place
for everyone.” ¡
