guests and volunteers authorized
to be on the campus – and deny
entry to others. His recommendations
included installation of a
Securitas USA visitor management
system.
The system’s database contains
a profile page and photograph
of every person authorized to
be on campus, and records the
date and time of each person’s
entrance and exit. For expected
guests and visitors, a profile page
with pertinent information is
quickly completed and photograph
taken for a photo ID badge.
“The system documents who’s
on campus and who’s visiting
whom,” says Acevedo. “Our ability
to effectively restrict access
and efficiently enforce the guest
pass policy 24/7 gives residents
a sense of calm and security that
truly has changed the culture of
our campus.”
From the lobby entrance,
Securitas USA officers monitor
CCTV cameras and use the
visitor management system to
control access during overnight
hours. The visitor management
system also is used to document
hours worked by the facility’s
teachers and other employees,
eliminating the need for a time
clock and time cards.
celebrating 20 years
of success
Wilson Commencement Park
has served nearly 700 families
and thousands of children since
its inception in 1991, and a
survey of past residents indicates
impressive results. A majority
of residents have completed
high school, received vocational
training or attended college; 81
percent are gainfully employed;
and nearly all are off welfare,
securely housed and better
equipped to provide for
their children.
That success demonstrates that
with a dedicated staff, tireless
volunteers, community support,
and a secure and nurturing environment,
it is possible to end the
cycle of poverty.
“Wilson Commencement Park
is a real asset in the Rochester
community, and we’re happy to
help maintain a safe place for
everyone they serve,” says Suzen
Greene CPP, Securitas USA area
vice president. ¡
