Relative deformation<br />
For each beam type, limiting values for the relati relative ve deflections are set, using the menu 'Steel > Beams<br />
> Setup > Relative deformations'.<br />
With the option 'Steel > Beams > Relative deformation', the relative deformations can be checked. The<br />
relative deformations are given as absolute value values, relative values related to the span, or as unity<br />
check related to the limit for the relative value to the span.<br />
Example<br />
Relative Deformation.esa<br />
- Set beam type for member B20 & B23: Beam and Rafter<br />
- Set system length for relative deformation<br />
- Set limits for relative deformations: Beam 1/1000 and Rafter 1/500<br />
- Relative deformation check on member B20 & B23<br />
B20: L = 2,9m → limit: 2900/1000 = 2,9mm<br />
Uz = -1,400mm → 1,400/2900 = 1/2072<br />
Check: (1/2072) / (1/1000) = 0,48<br />
B23: L = 5,0m → limit: 5000/500 = 10,0 mm<br />
Uz = -2,200mm → 2,200/5000 = 1/2273<br />
Check: (1/2273) / (1/500) = 0,22<br />
