is by the Rules of propriety that the character is established.
It is from Music that the finish is received.

per Musicam. K. In education sentiment is called out
by the study of Poetry ; judgment is formed by the study
of the arts; and education of the character ...... music.
Couv. Le disciple de la sagesse excite en son coeur des
sentiments honn_tes'par la lecture des Vers (du Cheu
King) ; il affermit sa volont6 ...... Li Ki'; il perfcctiolme sa
vertu ...... musique (du Io Ki).

them understand its philosophy._Not that Confucius did
