Ii <strong>the</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> teaching In <strong>the</strong> department is good and correspondingly <strong>the</strong> success rate <strong>of</strong><br />
students enrolled in <strong>the</strong> department Is good since <strong>the</strong> Incumbent became <strong>the</strong> HOD to date<br />
IIi teaching resources available in <strong>the</strong> department are being effectively utilised and maintained<br />
Iv <strong>the</strong> supervision <strong>of</strong> students work is effective especially laboratory workshop farm practlcals<br />
and projects<br />
v <strong>the</strong> evaluation <strong>of</strong> students work Is being properly done using appropriate assessment<br />
methods and relevant marking schemes<br />
vi students academic and o<strong>the</strong>r records are properly kept and are readiiy available on demand<br />
vII espirlt <strong>the</strong> corp exists among staff In <strong>the</strong> department and <strong>the</strong> staff are being fully involved in<br />
<strong>the</strong> administration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> department<br />
9 0 FINANCIAL SUPPORT<br />
9 1 There should be adequate financial support to<strong>the</strong> Institution and to <strong>the</strong> department to be re accredited<br />
as a measure <strong>of</strong> dedication <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> proprietor to <strong>the</strong> goal and objectives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> programme and as a<br />
predictor <strong>of</strong> continuity <strong>of</strong> good quality educ tion and programme stability Funds available shall be<br />
adequate <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> institution to support good oondition <strong>of</strong> service that may attract new staff and retain<br />
existing ones provide adequate consumabie training materials and update and improve its capital<br />
assets A minimum per capita recurrent expenditure <strong>of</strong> about N1 0 000 00 should be provided<br />
9 2 The Board shall confirm that <strong>the</strong>re are adequate funds to support <strong>the</strong> activities <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> department and<br />
<strong>the</strong> institution Indicators <strong>of</strong> adequate funding<br />

b a reasonably stable staff and improved staff and student welfare services<br />

8 <strong>of</strong> recurrent costs is required to maintain a good library<br />
d reguiar supply <strong>of</strong> consumables training materials and adequate practical project exercises in <strong>the</strong><br />
laboratories workshops and farms where applicable A minimum per capita provision <strong>of</strong> 10 <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> recurrent cost orN1 000 00 <strong>for</strong> engineering and technology and N600 00 <strong>for</strong> business related<br />
courses Is required<br />
e Improved capital assets and maintenance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> department facilities<br />
f a minimum recurrent provision <strong>of</strong> at least Nl0 000 00 per capita<br />
10 0 EMPLOYERS RATING OR TRACER STUDY OF DIPLOMATES<br />
10 1 Employers and tertiary institutions are <strong>the</strong> two main consumers <strong>of</strong> products <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ND HND programme<br />
to be re accredlted It is <strong>the</strong>re<strong>for</strong>e important that <strong>the</strong>ir views be obtained on how well <strong>diploma</strong>tes <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> programmewereor were not per<strong>for</strong>ming in <strong>the</strong>ir chosen field as one means <strong>of</strong> determining whe<strong>the</strong>r<br />
<strong>the</strong> goal and objectives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> programme were being met or not and if <strong>the</strong> curriculum in use require<br />
Improvements<br />
The evidence to <strong>the</strong> Board on <strong>the</strong> status <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> programme shall be<strong>the</strong> result <strong>of</strong> a tracer study or survey<br />
by <strong>the</strong> department or InstitUl pn<br />
per<strong>for</strong>mance <strong>of</strong> <strong>diploma</strong>tes <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> programme<br />
<strong>of</strong> employers and tertiary institutions to obtain <strong>the</strong>ir views on <strong>the</strong><br />
