philosophy and objectives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institution and <strong>the</strong> goal and objectives stated by <strong>the</strong> <strong>NBTE</strong><br />
<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> programme<br />
II The observations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Individuals or grol lp<br />
criteria<br />
III The weaknesses and strengths <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> programme<br />
Iv The recommendations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> team to <strong>the</strong> Board highlighting whe<strong>the</strong>r<br />
a to re accredit <strong>the</strong> programme or<br />
b not to re accredit <strong>the</strong> programme<br />
members on each Item <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> accreditation<br />
In each case <strong>of</strong> 14 1 e above <strong>the</strong> team should slate <strong>the</strong> reasons <strong>for</strong> recommending granting or<br />
denying <strong>the</strong> programme accreditation In <strong>the</strong> case <strong>of</strong> a programme not recommended <strong>for</strong><br />
accreditation <strong>the</strong> steps to be taken to bring <strong>the</strong> programme to <strong>the</strong> minimum standards required<br />
<strong>for</strong> accreditation should be highlighted<br />
14 2 Submit <strong>the</strong> final report to <strong>the</strong> <strong>NBTE</strong> Secretariat programme co ordlnalor be<strong>for</strong>e <strong>the</strong> departure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
panel<br />

14 3 Team members will be assigned specific responsibl lties singly or In groups by <strong>the</strong>team leader and<br />
<strong>the</strong>y will confer frequently with each o<strong>the</strong>r and exchange Impressions They will ensure that <strong>the</strong> criteria<br />
laid down by <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>for</strong> programme re accreditatlon are being met Typical activities to be<br />
undertaken by <strong>the</strong>m during <strong>the</strong> visit will Include among o<strong>the</strong>rs <strong>the</strong> following<br />
a <strong>the</strong> examination <strong>of</strong>students work past examination questionpapers samples <strong>of</strong> students scripts<br />
and external moderators report<br />
b <strong>the</strong> assessment <strong>of</strong> relevant teaching facilities and Instructional aids and how <strong>the</strong>y are being used<br />
to promote effective teaching and learning<br />
c <strong>the</strong> evaluation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> quality number and mix <strong>of</strong> teaching staff Teaching staff credentials may be<br />
sighted by team members where necessary<br />
d <strong>the</strong> assessment <strong>of</strong> supporting department such as general studies ma<strong>the</strong>matics science and<br />
library<br />
e determining <strong>the</strong> adequacy <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> budgetary allocallons <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> programme<br />
f determining <strong>the</strong> adequacy <strong>of</strong> physical facilities <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> programme classroom and workshop<br />
space laboratory facilities staff <strong>of</strong>fices machines and equipment and college l1rm etc<br />
g In<strong>for</strong>mal discussions with administrators teaching staff support staff and students about <strong>the</strong><br />
programmes <strong>the</strong> administration student welfare services etc In<strong>for</strong>mation ga<strong>the</strong>red from <strong>the</strong>se<br />
