One Stop Hire Ltd is now the largest independent hirer of 

Power Tools, Access Systems & Small Plant in the North 

West of England after purchasing SJS Hire Tools & 

purchasing the assets & goodwill of PSL Hire from 

administration in October 2009.

West region to ensure we have a network that is second to none, and guarantees

Work wear & Consumable items we carry, to compliment the Hire business, 

giving us a truly “One Stop” offering that is hard to match. 

One Stop Hire Ltd.'s three main objectives are Safety, Service & Quality which is 

backed up by our ISO9001. We intend to expand our S.H.E.Q portfolio further 

and we will keep all our clients updated in due course as we work towards

ADDED VALUE – CUSTOMER HIRE PROTECTION SCHEME 


Many clients are not often fully aware of their responsibility in 

respect of the equipment they hire & the cost implications this can 

lead to until an unfortunate event such as a theft or accidental 

damage occurs. 

We feel it is our duty to ensure clients understand fully the responsibility placed on 

them & also offer cost effective solutions to those areas they may not have 

covered. 

At One Stop Hire Ltd we operate to the Hire Association Europe (HAE) standard terms of business which is the 

benchmark trading association in our field & a copy can be found on our website, in any branch & on the 

reverse of all our hire documentation. Sections 4.1 & 8 of the HAE model terms & conditions require the 

customer to be fully responsible for any loss or damage to Hired in Equipment whilst it is in their possession. 

Many commercial & household insurance policies have inadequate, no cover at all or very high excess limits for 

Hired in Equipment & we urge our clients to check this out with their insurer prior to hiring. For those who 

have insufficient or no cover we can offer the below waivers at a very competitive premium to give the client a 

large degree of flexible protection to suit their business requirement.

a)Damage Waiver – For a premium of 9.5% of the invoiced hire value we will cover the first £300.00 of any 

accidental damage to our equipment whilst on hire. 

b)Theft Cover – For a premium of 12% of the invoiced hire value we will cover up to £15,000.00 in one 

occurrence of any theft of our equipment. This is subject to a police crime reference & claim form being 

completed. 

c)We will offer both Damage & Theft Waiver for a premium of 16% of the invoiced hire value.

are our fastest growing product lines 

& this sits perfect in our strategy to deal 

with more “inside” trades, stated

The whole team at Power Tower have 

done us proud & without their swift &

Since acquiring PSL & SJS Hire in Oct 2009 we have built the access fleet up to 70 machines now from 

a lowly beginning of 2 which unbelievably never went out hardly for PSL & one manager at the time 

commented that it would be best to sell them!! We estimate that on current customer demand & with 

the M&E customer base still growing we will hit 100 machines in the springtime.


IN THE NEWS – WORKING WELL TOGETHER PRESS RELEASE 

On the 14 th November 2012, the newly formed Lancashire Working 

Well Together Group held its first Safety & Health Awareness Day at 

the Park Hall Hotel in Charnock Richard near Chorley. WWT is a HSE 

backed initiative which promotes Health & Safety to SME contractors 

in 17 regions across the country.

One of the main topics was working at low heights & One Stop 

Hire was invited by the group to display & demonstrate its range 

of alloy & battery operated access products to the 300 plus 

delegates. One Stop Hire has invested heavily in these products 

this year & has seen massive growth in this sector.

HSE Chief Praises MediaCityUK Site Safety 


The chair of the government‟s Health and Safety Executive has praised “innovative ways of reducing risk” being used 

on the site of MediaCityUK in Salford Quays. 

On a visit to the £500m development, Judith Hackitt saw a new guardrail scaffolding system which is put up and 

dismantled in a way that virtually eliminates the risk of falls from height. It also uses fewer component parts than 

traditional scaffolding, meaning it is less likely to be used with parts missing - often a key factor in accidents. 

She was also shown how contractor Bovis Lend Lease uses building “wraps” to prevent materials falling and provide 

additional protection for workers. 

Hackitt said in a news release: “The scale and scope of this project is 

truly impressive and to have had the opportunity to go on site and see 

it taking shape is an experience that will stay with me. 

“It was encouraging to see such commitment to health and safety and 

innovative ways of reducing risk. It is clear that Bovis Lend Lease is 

showing leadership in promoting a safety culture and one that involves 

workers at every level - something HSE is keen to promote.” 

“HSE will never shy away from taking action against those companies 

that fail to protect their workers, but our preference is to work with 

those who want to develop safer working practices and to encourage 

them to share what they do well.” 

John Hynd, Bovis Lend Lease project director, said: “We are continuously striving to push the boundaries of making
