Genus Heteropodarke Hartmann-Schröder, 1962<br />

"Body small, with rather few segments: Prostomium roundish, never incised: 4 eyes:<br />

a single median and 2 lateral antennae; two non-articulated palpi: tentacular cirri variable in<br />

number <strong>by</strong> specimens, 2-6 pairs, on 0-2 clear segments: Parapodia uniramous, with 1-2<br />

slender acicula in cirrophore of notocirrus; Notocirri more or less clearly articulated;<br />

Neurocirri rather long and articulated too; Neurosetae compound, its blade short, falciger,<br />

with uni-dentate apex: In several anterior and middle segments, parapodia with other sort of<br />

stout deformed setae: Proboscis with papillae on distal margin, but without jaws."<br />

MATERIAL EXAMINED.<br />

Nachi-Katsuura, Nachi Bay, 9.4m, sandy bottom, Sept. 27, 1988, SCUBA diving, 1<br />

specimen (holotype).<br />

DESCRIPTION.<br />

Body colorless, 6 mm long with 42 setigers excluding lost posterior part, with 450<br />

µm wide including parapodia, and 270 µm wide excluding parapodia.<br />

Prostomium almost rounded, as long as wide, with a median antenna, a pair of lateral<br />

antennae and a pair of palpi. Median antenna subulate, as long as the length of prostomium,<br />

inserted at the center of frontal margin. A pair of weak undulations on both sides of<br />

inserted part of the prostomium. Lateral antennae same from, but somewhat longer than the
