Administration Manual - B.E.S.T. Undertaking.

The specific duties entrusted to SI / ASI/ Havaldar/ Security Guard attached to Vigilance Section.
Besides the above mentioned duties, SI/ASI/ Havaldar / S/Guard attached to Vigilance Section have to
perform the following duties :
1] to assist Vigilance Department of Supply Branch for carrying out raid and pay visit to the premises to
detect the cases regarding theft of energy & R to C.
2] to cover the meeting of the unions held outside Undertaking’s premises.
3] to carry out discreet watch on the employees activities in connection with the nature of complaints received
against them.
4] to keep discreet watch at the places where theft takes place, so as to nab the culprit.
5] carry out random checking of the Undertaking’s electricity consumers to detect change of tariff cases( R to
C)
6] perform bandobast duty at various Bus Stations, Supply worksites, Supply installation, such as Receiving
Station etc., Oil tankers whenever there is a strike/ bandh / civil disturbances.
7] find out the whereabouts / occupancy of the consumers in the cases referred by the Consumer Department.
8] visit the residence of ex-employees to find out their whereabout in order to recover the Identity card-cum-
Bus token etc.
9] to collect information as regards to any illegal activities, mal- practices, anti-Management, National
activities etc.
10] to be vigilant during their working hours at Depot / Site postings
11] to perform bandobast duties at the time of organizational functions such as BEST Din, Depot / Bus
Station inauguration etc.
12] to attend VIP bandobast.
13] to perform bandobast duty at the time of eviction, demolition, forcible possession of vacant plot etc.
