c) arrange to reduce the leakage of revenue & theft cases to the minimum possible extent
on both the sides i.e. Transport & Electric Supply Branch.
7) Assistance to other departments
He shall arrange to provide Security assistance to :
a) Traffic Dept.- by posting Security Guards whenever the chowkey, shelters, buses are
damaged and are required to be protected over night.
b) Transportation Engineering Dept.- by escorting staff to the spots where the buses are
immobilized by strikers, to attend to the damage done and to bring back the buses.
c) Electric Supply Branch- In the cases of raids conducted in the matter of theft of
electiricity and unauthorized extensions.
d) Consumers Dept.- By escorting the stranded Cash Counter Clerks during Bandhs/
Civil disturbances
e) Estate Dept. In the eviction of unauthorized occupants of quarters.
f) Building Dept.-
a. In the matter of demolition of hutment/s unauthorized structures and vacating
encroachments
b. Guarding of plots of land acquired by the Undertaking.
c. Joint inspection of vacant plots, to detect the encroachment.
g) Stores Dept. : By posting Armed Officers at the venue of auction
at scrap yard.
8) Administration :
I) He shall ensure :
a) smooth running of department
b) economic use of stationery & fuel for departmental vehicles and working of overtime
c) budgetary control
d) maximum & effective utilization of the services of Officers & Staff
e) welfare of the Officers and Staff.
II) He shall :
a) order departmental enquiries to be held in the matters of misconduct committed by the
staff of Security & Vigilance Department.
III) He shall :
b) hear second appeals preferred by the Security staff against the orders of Trying Officer.
