v] for one’s own or dependents treatment in
hospital for wasting diseases or for major
surgical treatment;
vi] for post-SSC education of children;
vii] for meeting expenses of marriage of daughter
and
viii] for any other reason permitted by the Regional
Provident Fund Commissioner from time to
time.
5.9.2 PROVIDENT FUND ADVANCE RECOUPMENT BILLS :
Amounts by way of advances from Provident Fund paid to the
employees on prescribed days. The paid bills are sent in lots duly
tagged with summaries of payments made. These summaries are
certified by the Cash Department and recoupment entries are passed
in the relevant recoupment register by the Cash Department.
5.9.2.1. PROCEDURES FOR CHECKING :
In checking these bills the following procedure is followed whereby it is
checked :

a] that the signature of the payee has been obtained over a revenue
stamp where necessary;
b] that the relevant entries have been made by the Cash
Department in the Provident Fund recoupment register and
c] that the cash drawn from bank by the Cash Department for
effecting future payments is tallied with entries made in the
advance register maintained in Audit.
5.9.3 OUTWARD BILL DEPOSITS :
The Revenue Section of the Internal Audit Department first checks and
certifies the correctness of the amounts recoverable and included in
the Outward Bill Memo by way of actuals of charges for work done
