consumption with electronic meters for both the zones. The billing job
involves following activities:
i. Data Entry of Cyclewise consumption files for meter reading
data.
ii. a) Data Entry of daily payments from cash collection
centres and banks.
b) Payments through infinity of ICICI Bank and Bill
Junction of ICICI is received via e-mail. This requires
daily monitoring of data to be sent and data received via
e-mail
c) Payments transactions from ECS through RBI
iii. Data Entry of connection orders processing for new connections.
The data from some of the wards where connection order system
(COP) is implemented at Commercial Department is received in
floppies.
iv. Amendments and adjustments advised by the Consumers
Department.
v. The billing jobs are processed as per the cyclewise billing
program after updating the billing master file with payments,
consumption, amendments and adjustments.
vi. The bills are printed, bursted, cut and arranged in the wardwise
account no. order and are sent to the Outdoor Sections of
Consumer Department (North and South).
Billing system consists of several programs for the above
activities and the regular maintenance of these programs is a
crucial part of the billing system. EDP Department has to
maintain divisionwise/cyclewise/ wardwise data for past 4/5
years to prepare various reports on the basis of previous data.
The other connected systems are as below:-
a) Billing of temporary connection :-
This system is developed and implemented for recording billing
details of temporary connections and processing the bills of
short-term and long term temporary connections.
b) Billing of Agreemental Consumers :-
