HOSPITALISATION SCHEME & MEDICAL AID : The <strong>Undertaking</strong> has provided dispensaries at all Depots & Workshops. The certain medical facilities are provided to entire staff members of the <strong>Undertaking</strong> at these dispensaries. Similarly, certain medical investigation facilities are also made available at Mumbai Central Medical Investigation Center, where specialist viz. General : 21 : ….21/- physician, General Surgeon, Cardiologist, chest specialist, Ophthalmic Surgeon, Radiologist and Pathologist etc. are available for specialized advices. The members of staff are therefore expected that they should avail the benefit of these dispensaries for their medical investigations. In certain cases, the employee patients are required to admit in Municipal / State Government Hospitals for availing medical treatments for a long duration. The Welfare Personnel regularly visits the employee patients admitted in various Government/Municipal hospitals located in the Traffic operational areas of
Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and extended suburbs of city limits. The required medicines, as prescribed by the Doctors are provided to the employee patients. The cost of medicines, surgical items, CT Scan, Angioplasty, Angiography, Stress Test, etc. is reimbursed to the employee patients. An imprest cash of Rs.3,00,000/- is maintained to cover this expenditure. The Welfare Personnel also visits the members of staff admitted in private hospitals and explain them the Hospital Scheme of the undertaking. The expenses incurred by the members of staff towards the medical treatment/ investigations carried out in private hospitals are reimbursed as per Administrative Order No. 283 dtd. 15.10.1999. The employee patients who are admitted in private hospital for treatment of specific diseases such as Cancer, Heart Surgery and Kidney transplantation are also rendered medical help and monetary assistance is provided as per the above mentioned Administrative : 22 : …22/- Order. All the above medical assistance/help is rendered to employee patients by Welfare Department under ‘Hospitalisation Scheme’. Some members of staff of the Welfare Department are working at the office situated at Wadala Depot for an urgent help to our employee patients admitted in the hospitals at peripheral area.
