Chief Medical Officer -

1) Scrutinisation of all medical reports of recruits for employment and their
certification for fitness or otherwise.
2) Examination and certification of employees for invalidation.
3) Examination of cases of injury exceeding 8 week & endorsement of Accident forms.
4) Discussions of complicated cases with specialist.
5) . Examination of injury claims for reimbursement of medical expenses and
recommendation of the same.
6) Certification of cases of reimbursement if regretted of both employees and family
members then the appeal for review / reconsideration is addressed to CMO whose decision
is final and binding.
7) Certification of genuineness of sickness in the case of members of staff of the
Undertaking, requesting grant of special leave on half pay and/ or leave without pay.
8) Overall posting of doctors and staff in the department.
9) Sanction of leave to officers and employees of the dept.
10) Requisition of medicine, injection and appliances in the medical dispensaries.
To scrutinise quotations and recommend purchases.
11) Control on central medical store with the cooperation of Material Management
Department.
12) Administration work as well as overall control of entire Medical Department. 13.
Periodical visits to depot, Mumbai central Investigation and diagnostic centre, visits to
hospitals where our members are admitted if and when necessary.
14) To attend labour industrial court whenever required.
15) Discussions with representatives unions.
16) To Conduct Meeting of Medical Board of appeal with respect to recruits, as a
Member Secretary.
