SECTION P: MANAGERS<br />

Codes of Conduct Old Rule<br />

P.1. Managers shall conduct themselves in accordance with the Code of Conduct for<br />

Managers set out in Appendix 6.<br />

P.2. Clubs shall conduct themselves in relation to Managers in accordance with the<br />

Code of Conduct for Clubs set out in Appendix 7.<br />

P.3. Any failure by Managers or Clubs to conduct themselves in accordance with their<br />

respective Codes of Conduct will constitute a breach of this Rule.<br />

Coaching Qualifications Old Rule<br />

P.4. Each Manager shall either:<br />

P.4.1. hold, or have commenced and be actively engaged on the requisite course<br />

to obtain, a valid UEFA Pro Diploma; or<br />

P.4.2. hold the Football Association Coaching Diploma; or<br />

P.4.3. hold, or have commenced and be actively engaged on the requisite course to<br />

obtain, a valid diploma of a similar standard issued by another<br />

national association.<br />

P.5. No Club shall employ any person as a Manager who does not hold a qualification<br />

listed in Rule P.4.<br />

Caretakers Managers Old Rule<br />

P.6. Rules P.1 to P.3 shall apply to caretaker Managers but Rules P.4, P.5 and P.7 shall<br />

not apply to them until the expiry of 12 weeks from the date of their appointment<br />

as such. The Board shall have power to grant an extension of the 12 weeks period<br />

only if reasonably satisfied that the Manager is then medically unfit to resume<br />

his duties.<br />

Contracts of Employment and Registration Old Rule<br />

P.7. No Club shall employ any person as a Manager unless and until:<br />

P.7.1. the terms of the Manager’s employment have been evidenced in a written<br />

contract of employment between the Club and the Manager; and<br />

P.7.2. the Manager’s contract of employment has been registered with<br />

the Secretary.<br />

Contents of Contracts of Employment Old Rule<br />

P.8. Contracts of employment between a Club and a Manager shall:<br />

P.8.1. include the standard clauses set out in Appendix 8;<br />

P.8.2. clearly set out the circumstances in which the contract of employment<br />

may be determined by either party.<br />
