Head Injuries Old Rule<br />

O.9. Any Player, whether engaged in a League Match, any other match or in training,<br />

who having sustained a head injury leaves the field of play, shall not be allowed<br />

to resume playing or training (as the case may be) until he has been examined<br />

by a medical practitioner and declared fit to do so.<br />

Medical Records Old Rule<br />

O.10. Each Club shall carry out medical examinations on all its Contract Players and<br />

Academy Players registered on scholarship agreements in accordance with the<br />

requirements laid down in Appendix 13 and keep medical records which shall<br />

be made available for inspection by authorised representatives of the League.<br />

O.11. Where the transfer including the Temporary Transfer of the registration of a<br />

Contract Player is being negotiated between Clubs, the Club holding the<br />

registration shall at the request of the other Club provide to it the medical<br />

records of the Contract Player in question (including for the avoidance of<br />

doubt any records which the Club holds of the cardiac screening of the Player).<br />

Medical Insurance Old Rule<br />

O.12. During such time as there shall remain in force an agreement between the League<br />

and the Professional Footballers’ Association for the subsidising of Player<br />

insurance schemes, each Club shall cause each of its Contract Players and those<br />

of its Academy Players with whom it has entered into a Scholarship Agreement to<br />

be insured under and in accordance with the terms of any private medical<br />

insurance scheme approved by the Board. In the case of such Academy Players<br />

such insurance may be limited to football related injuries.<br />
