SECTION D: THE <strong>LEAGUE</strong> – FINANCE<br />

Obligations of the League Old Rule<br />

D.1. Subject to the provisions of Article 49, the League shall enter into Commercial<br />

Contracts, UK Broadcasting Contracts, Overseas Broadcasting Contracts, Radio<br />

Contracts and Title Sponsorship Contracts with the intention in the case of each<br />

UK Broadcasting Contract for the live Transmission of League Matches that each<br />

Club shall participate in at least one live televised League Match each Season.<br />

D.2. Each Club and each Contract Player shall comply with any reasonable request<br />

made on behalf of the League to allow the Player’s Image to be used to enable the<br />

League to fulfil its Commercial Contracts, UK Broadcasting Contracts, Overseas<br />

Broadcasting Contracts, Radio Contracts and Title Sponsorship Contracts, provided<br />

that, where the size of the product permits, the League shall not use the images of<br />

less than 4 Contract Players, each from different Clubs, on any one product.<br />

Obligations of Clubs Old Rule<br />

D.3. Subject to Rule D.8, Clubs shall provide such rights, facilities and services as are<br />

required to enable the League to fulfil its Commercial Contracts, UK Broadcasting<br />

Contracts, Overseas Broadcasting Contracts, Radio Contracts and Title Sponsorship<br />

Contracts and shall not by any act or omission infringe any exclusive rights granted<br />

thereunder or otherwise cause any breach thereof to occur. For the avoidance of doubt<br />

only the League may enforce this Rule against a Club and no other Person shall have<br />

any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties Act) 1999 to so enforce it.<br />

D.4. Each Club shall indemnify the League against any liability the League may incur<br />

in the event of a finding by a Court of Law or other body of competent jurisdiction<br />

that the League induced the Club to breach a contract with a third party as a result<br />

of requiring the Club to comply with Rule D.3.<br />

D.5. The Title Sponsorship Contract shall not have the effect of preventing any Club<br />

from granting any rights of whatever nature pursuant to its Club Shirt Sponsor<br />

Contract irrespective of when the Club enters into the same and the Club Shirt<br />

Sponsor Contract of any Club shall not have the effect of preventing any right<br />

granted pursuant to any Title Sponsorship Contract being operated or enjoyed in<br />

respect of any Club or at the ground of any Club.<br />

D.6. Each Club shall provide such reasonable rights, facilities and services at each<br />

League Match taking place at its registered ground as are reasonably required and<br />

as are authorised by any directive issued by the League pursuant to Rule D.7 to<br />

enable the Visiting Club in respect of the said League Match to comply with the<br />

terms of any Club Radio Contract to which it is party.<br />

D.7. The League shall issue from time to time directives to Clubs setting out those<br />

rights which may and may not be granted by any Club in any Club Radio Contract<br />

and each Club shall comply in all respects with any such directive.<br />

D.8. In the case of a Commercial Contract and/or a Title Sponsorship Contract a Club<br />

shall not be bound to comply with Rule D.3 if:<br />
