Texas A&M-Kingsville Track & Field A n t h o n y W a s h i n g t o n Sprints Junior • 5-9 • 165 • 2L Cypress, TX Cy-Springs HS 2011: Washington earned All-America honors as part of the 4x100-meter relay team. He was named all-Lone Star Conference after picking up 10.5 points at the LSC Meet with a third place finish in the 400-meters, second place in the 4x100-meter relay and first place in the 4x400-meter relay. He took three all-South Central Region honors in the 400-meters and both relays. He added an all-region award in the indoor 4x400 relay. He is ranked #3 all-time in the 4x100-meter relay and #8 all-time in the 4x400-meter relay. Indoor 60 (6.86); Indoor 200 (21.81); 100 (11.03); 200 (21.65); 400 (48.05). 2010: Indoor 60 (7.05); Indoor 200 (22.55); 100 (10.98); 400 (50.33). High School: Washington was a two-time all-district running back earning First Team honors as a senior. He was named the team’s most valuable player and defensive player of the year. Personal: Washington is the son of Anthony and Alicia Washington and is undecided on his major. A n d r e w W e l l s Throws Freshman • 6-5 • 225 • HS Unionville, Ontario Unionville HS High School: Wells attended Unionville High School in Ontario, Canada. He was the 2010 Canadian Junior National Champion in the discus with a toss of 177-11, which was the seventh best throw in Canada. He finished 12th in his qualifying round at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships. He had a top shot put of 53-11. Personal: Wells is the son of Steven and Angie Wells and is studying Business Management with a minor in Computer Information Systems. C a l v i n S c h a r f Distance Sophomore • 6-0 • 135 • TR Odem, TX University of the Ozarks Previous: Scharf was a member of the American Southwest Conference Cross Country 2010 Runner’s Up at the University of the Ozarks as a freshman. High School: Scharf competed in track and cross country at Sinton High School. He was a regional qualifier in cross country and in the 1600 and 3200 meters in track as a senior. Personal: Scharf is the son of Jennell Scharf and is studying Kinesiology. He took seventh at the indoor nationals in the 200 meters. During the outdoor season, he was fifth in the 200 meters and fifth in the 4x100-meter relay. He was named all-South Central Region during the indoor season in the 200 meters and 4x400-meter relay. He was all-South Central Region during the outdoor season in the 200 meters, 4x100 and 4x400 relays. He took all-Lone Star Conference honors after anchoring the winning 4x400 relay and second place 4x100 relay teams. He set the school record in the indoor 200 meters with a time of 21.28 at the national meet. He is #3 all-time in the 200 meters, #3 in the 4x100-meter relay and #8 in the 4x400-meter relay. Indoor 60 (6.90); Indoor 200 (21.28); 100 (10.47); 200 (20.88). 2010: Woodson earned All-American honors in the 4x100 relay running the third leg on the team. Indoor 60 (7.09); Indoor 200 (22.91); 100 (11.09); 200 (21.38). High School: Woodson played football and ran track at Thurgood Marshall HS. Personal: Woodson is the son of Charles and Alice Woodson and is studying Criminology with a minor in Sociology. He earned a pair of First Team All-America honors in football during his junior season. High School: Alanis was on the track and cross country teams at Rio Grande City High School. Personal: Alanis is studying IT Management. High School: Batiste was a First Team All-District 23-5A pick at wide receiver for Marshall High School. Personal: Batiste is the son of Toni Batiste and is studying Criminology.

High School: Butler is a hurdler from Pembroke Pines, FL where he attended Flanagan High School. He was a member of a regional and district championship team. Personal: Butler is the son of Eugene and Antionette Butler and is studying Computer Science. His twin brother, Catrell, is also on the track team. R u s s e l l C a l a i s Hurdles Freshman • 5-9 • 160 • RS Big Wells, TX Carrizo Springs HS 2011: Calais red-shirted his first year at Texas A&M-Kingsville. High School: Calais was a highly successful hurdler at Carrizo Springs HS. He was a three-time district champion in the 300 hurdles and a two-time champion in the 110 hurdles. He competed in the Texas Relays and was an AAU Junior Olympic qualifier in the 400 hurdles. Personal: Calais is the son of Russell and Esther Calais and is studying Kinesiology. J . C . G u z m a n Sprints Freshman • 5-10 • 145 • RS San Benito, TX San Benito HS 2011: Guzman red-shirted his first year at Texas A&M-Kingsville. High School: Guzman was a three-sport star at San Benito HS. He was a three-time honorable mention all-district wide receiver and had 36 catches for 822 yards as a senior. As a junior, he was the district champion in the 100 (10.69) and 200-meter (21.89) dashes. As a senior, he stepped up to the 400 meters and was district champion in a time of 49.86. Personal: Guzman is the son of Jesus and Isabelle Guzman and is studying Speech Therapy. R y a n R i c h a r d s o n Middle Distance Freshman • 5-11 • 155 • RS Houston, TX Clear Lake HS 2011: Richardson red-shirted his first year at Texas A&M-Kingsville. High School: Richardson was the track team captain at Clear Lake HS. Personal: Richardson is the son of Tom and Cristina Richardson and is studying Kinesiology. High School: Robinson played both basketball and track at Pearland HS. He was a two-time regional qualifier in track performing well in both the long and triple jumps. In basketball, he was part of a team that went to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.
