The priest vests in surplice and purple stole. He should be assisted by clerics or other ministrants, who hold the
aspersory, thurible and incense boat. First the priest goes up to the altar predella and and addresses the people briefly on
the excellence and value of this devotion of the Stations of the Sorrowful Mother. After this he kneels on the lowest step
of the altar and intones the Veni, Creator Spiritus, which is continued by the choir.
