160. FAMILY NEMONYCHIDAE
This family occurs in temperate parts <strong>of</strong> North
and South America but not <strong>the</strong> West Indies. The
larvae usually feed in <strong>the</strong> male cones <strong>of</strong> conifers.
161. FAMILY ANTHRIBIDAE
The fungus weevils
Larvae and adults <strong>of</strong> this family usually occur
on or in rotten wood and fungal fruiting bodies.
Members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Choraginae are <strong>of</strong>ten seed feeders.
Valentine (1999) is a summary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Nearctic fauna
and includes data on some <strong>Cuba</strong>n species. Valentine
(2004) indicates that <strong>the</strong>re are an additional
22 undescribed species and an additional three genera
for <strong>Cuba</strong>, which are not included below.
