Some are predators on wood-boring beetles, and some feed on fungus spores and hyphae (Slipinski and Lawrence 1997). The higher classification is used differently in different sources (Ivie and Slipinski 1990). The following are placed in Zopheridae in Slipinski and Lawrence (1999).
