These are called “cocuyos” in <str<strong>on</strong>g>Cuba</str<strong>on</strong>g>. Adults are<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>ten collected <strong>on</strong> vegetati<strong>on</strong> or at lights. Larvae<br />

occur in many habitats, including soil, litter, <strong>and</strong><br />

rotten wood. They may be predators, phytophagous,<br />

or saprophagous. Some may be pests <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> agriculture<br />

(Vàzquez et al. 1992).<br />
