are found in leaf litter, <strong>and</strong> under bark. They<br />

feed <strong>on</strong> fungus or slime molds.<br />

The minute beetles<br />

This family probably occurs in <str<strong>on</strong>g>Cuba</str<strong>on</strong>g>. It is<br />

known from North, Central <strong>and</strong> South America,<br />

but in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> West Indies <strong>on</strong>ly <strong>on</strong> Hispaniola (Endrody-<br />

Younga 1981, 1998). Species are usually found in<br />

debris piles or leaf litter, where <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>y probably feed<br />

<strong>on</strong> fungal spores; some may be predators <strong>on</strong> scale<br />

insects.<br />
