Major Events in HTC’s History<br />

1997 HTC established in Kaohsiung, Taiwan with initial<br />

capital of NT$5 million. Main products and business<br />

comprise vacuum design, MFC manufacture and sales<br />

and successful development of Taiwan's first digital<br />

vacuum gauge.<br />

2001 (May) - HTC International Trading Company (<strong>Shanghai</strong>)<br />

established in <strong>Shanghai</strong>'s Waigaoqiao bonded zone.<br />

A maintenance center, warehouse and office are also<br />

set up.<br />

2002 HTC International Trading Company (<strong>Shanghai</strong>)<br />

officially commences business. In January 2003, the<br />

maintenance service is expanded to provide cleaning<br />

service for equipment and components under<br />

warranty.<br />

SII EDS product line imported by Japan's software<br />

service sector.<br />

2003 Construction of a new factory begins in the Hukou<br />

industrial zone. Total area: 800 ping. Factory begins<br />

preliminary operations in June 2004, with normal<br />

operations beginning in November 2004.<br />

2004 Expansion of Hsinchu factory with addition of<br />

complete turbo pump, dry pump, cryo pump and gate<br />

valve maintenance lines and maintenance teams. In<br />

the same year, HTC <strong>Shanghai</strong> moves office to the<br />

Baoshan industrial zone and announces plans to build<br />

a new factory for production of vacuum components<br />

and for provision of pump maintenance and cleaning<br />

services to the semiconductor and opto-electronic<br />

industries.<br />

2008 Construction of the Baoshan factory is completed.<br />

Vacuum Components and Coating Equipment Business<br />

Located in Shangha's Baoshan district, the factory is primarily<br />

factory also makes vacuum products for industries including<br />

HTC's factories operate with strict safety controls to produce<br />
