Multimedia Education Center has been launched in no. 10 Alexander Chavchavadze Street,<br />
Tbilisi. The clients - IREX Georgia, USAID and the author of the initiative - journalist Rob Montgomery,<br />
wished the Center to be an open, light, versatile space, which could be quickly and efficiently<br />
transformed into modules with different functions (e.g. from interview studio to conference hall,<br />
from classroom to clipping room) so that the adjusting requires just a few minutes and efforts of<br />
one or two people. Everything this space would be equipped with - tables, chairs, cameras,<br />
sound-absorbing partitions - should be easy to move. Considering this, it was decided to make<br />
almost all the design elements mobile: attach wheels, make tables collapsible and chairs - stackable,<br />
so that they can be stowed away compactly in one corner in case if the Center needs to<br />
host a conference or another large event.
