KIFF 2012 also hosted the following events:<br />

Interior design award "Interium 2012", contested by<br />

authors of 58 public and private interior designs from<br />

Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Award<br />

ceremony took place in the Art Center of Jacob Gretera;<br />

the awards were distributed by a jury, chaired by<br />

Professor Nicola R. Ticozzi (POLI.design - Politecnico di<br />

Milano, Italy). Apart from other prizes, competition winners<br />

received grants for atten<strong>da</strong>nce at express training<br />

courses in Politecnico di Milano.<br />

Interium 2012 was awarded to:<br />

First Diploma of the competition: Sergey Serdiukov,<br />

Grigoriy Solomin and Nikolay Novichkov (Russia) for apartment<br />

project "YES!" - space sculpture, created from concrete,<br />

which turns into a shelter, protecting from the outside<br />

world and containing only the basic necessities;<br />

Winners of the nomination "Public Interior Design":<br />

Levan Salukvadze and Gela Ior<strong>da</strong>nishvhili (Georgia), project<br />

"Marjanov Express Restaurant" - Italian restaurant in<br />

Marjanishvili Theater, Tbilisi (1st place, competition grandprix);<br />

Irina Rudenskaya (Ukraine) - fast food cafe<br />

"Kulemyot" (2nd place); Inna Bakhtadze (Georgia) - Thai<br />

restaurant in Tbilisi (3rd place).<br />

Nomination "Residential Interior Design": Evgenia<br />

Kogan and Alesya Shekera (Ukraine) - apartment design<br />

"Scandinavian Dream" (1st place) - Scandinavian simplicity<br />

and functionality, use of basic natural materials and<br />

textures, practical and spacious sliding door wardrobes<br />

instead of numerous furniture articles, integrated living<br />

room and kitchen; Justina Smoletz (Poland) - apartment<br />

design "Living Machine" (2nd place); Kanat Sydykov<br />

(Kazakhstan) - apartment design "Luxurious Couleur" (3rd<br />

place).<br />

Nicola Ticcozzi thanked participants for interesting<br />

projects and awarded competition laureates grants covering<br />

the cost of capacity-building courses at Politechnico<br />

di Milano in April 2012.<br />
