KIFF 2012 also hosted the following events:
Interior design award "Interium 2012", contested by
authors of 58 public and private interior designs from
Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Award
ceremony took place in the Art Center of Jacob Gretera;
the awards were distributed by a jury, chaired by
Professor Nicola R. Ticozzi (POLI.design - Politecnico di
Milano, Italy). Apart from other prizes, competition winners
received grants for attendance at express training
courses in Politecnico di Milano.

Interium 2012 was awarded to:
First Diploma of the competition: Sergey Serdiukov,
Grigoriy Solomin and Nikolay Novichkov (Russia) for apartment
project "YES!" - space sculpture, created from concrete,
which turns into a shelter, protecting from the outside
world and containing only the basic necessities;
Winners of the nomination "Public Interior Design":
Levan Salukvadze and Gela Iordanishvhili (Georgia), project
"Marjanov Express Restaurant" - Italian restaurant in
Marjanishvili Theater, Tbilisi (1st place, competition grandprix);
Irina Rudenskaya (Ukraine) - fast food cafe
"Kulemyot" (2nd place); Inna Bakhtadze (Georgia) - Thai
restaurant in Tbilisi (3rd place).
Nomination "Residential Interior Design": Evgenia
Kogan and Alesya Shekera (Ukraine) - apartment design
"Scandinavian Dream" (1st place) - Scandinavian simplicity
and functionality, use of basic natural materials and
textures, practical and spacious sliding door wardrobes
instead of numerous furniture articles, integrated living
room and kitchen; Justina Smoletz (Poland) - apartment
design "Living Machine" (2nd place); Kanat Sydykov
(Kazakhstan) - apartment design "Luxurious Couleur" (3rd
place).
Nicola Ticcozzi thanked participants for interesting
projects and awarded competition laureates grants covering
the cost of capacity-building courses at Politechnico
di Milano in April 2012.
