CONSTRUCTION OF GOVERNMENT HOUSE

Client: Kutaisi City Hall
Budget: 6.750.000 Euros
Description: 5,000 sq. m. building designed for
the Government of Georgia, consisting of offices, meeting
rooms, staff area, conference hall and cabinet rooms.
It is located near the new Parliament of Georgia, inside
the Millennium Park. The building has a double glazing
façade that economizes the energy.
Reconstruction of Bagrati Cathedral is almost done.
Restored Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Drama Theater
was opened recently – this is the largest theater in
the country (800 seats). Rehabilitation and façade
redesign of Kutaisi Meliton Balanchivadze Opera and
Ballet Theater (total area – 4600 sq. m.; 4 floors) is
already completed.
KUTAISI OPERA AND BALLET THEATER is
a smaller analogue of Vienna Opera. Its roof is decorated
with 13 Roman sculptures created by Kutaisibased
sculptor Giorgi Kikvidze; building façade and
interior were completely changed, 453-seat opera hall
was redesigned, dressing rooms and offices were
upgraded, modern HIV systems were installed. Author
of the project is architect David Gogichaishvili, chief
architect of Company “HouseArt”. “HouseArt” is a
Georgian project design company engaged in creation
of international standard architectural and structural
designs for public and commercial buildings and
on-site surveillance of the construction process.
In Kutaisi, “HouseArt” has designed TBC
BUSINESS CENTER (total area: 9000 sq. m.; 6 floors;
car parking; hypermarket; bank) and several other interesting
projects.
NEW FOUNTAIN, decorated with gilded copies
of ancient sculptures discovered during recent archeological
excavations, was launched in the redesigned
central plaza of the city.Sculptor – Giorgi Kikvadze.
Architect David Gogichaishvili and Sculptor Giorgi
Kikvadze were awarded Presidential Order of
Excellence for realizing a range of important projects
in Kutaisi.
