Practice No. 045-1974 for the testing of water boreholes (see Chapter 20). A continuous
nine hour pumping test must be undertaken using suitable pumping equipment (not a bailer
(unless special circumstances prevail). No subsidy is payable by the Department unless
receipts are submitted and the costs incurred are reasonable. Applicants are given one
year in which to have the borehole drilled (after acceptance of the proposal by the
DepartmentJ, although the completion period may be extended for a further year (on
application). The subsidy is calculated on the same basis as the above scheme, with the
user and the driller, makes no payment to the drilling contractor, and is not a party to any
dispute. If the applicant provides misleading or false information to the Department, then
Code of Practice No. 045-1974. The works must be completed within 12 months of
consent, although an extension of a further 12 months may be granted. No subsidy is
payable until receipts have been submitted, or if the applicant made use of second hand
materials for any component of the additional works. If false or misleading information is
provided by the applicant, then the applicant is required to return the subsidy to the
Department.
