↓ To convert or create a SIM file Note: It is possible to select a different sample rate for the input and output files in Dfilter, however sample rate conversion has not been supplied with this release of the software. Selecting different sample rates changes the information in the .SIM file header but does not affect the actual data vectors. THE ENGINEERING TOOLS 1. If the input file is a SIM file then type or select the name of the input file. Check , the input fields will be filled automatically. — otherwise — Fill in the appropriate information in the input fields (data type, file type, sample rate) using the drop down combo boxes. 2. Type the Vector length. 3. If the input data is periodic Check Periodic. 4. Specify the number of vectors to process by typing the number in the Vectors text box. 5. Select if data normalisation between the input and output should occur, by selecting the required data type normalisation option (on or off). 6. Type or select the name of the output file. Follow steps 1 through 4 above to fill in the appropriate information concerning the output file. HURON TECHNICAL MANUAL PAGE 216
Lvec Windows Interface ↓ To start Lvec ↓ To navigate the *.SIM file Simwin — Lvec Tool The Lvec function reads the contents of a *.SIM file and lists its contents in the Simwin display window. The data is presented in columns of real and imaginary samples, with each row representing a sample number. 1. Select Lvec on the Simwin function menu. —or— Click . 2. Select a *.SIM file to list. After a SIM file is selected the following dialogue box will be displayed (Figure 67). Figure 67 — The Lvec interface The first page of the textual display shows the header of the *.SIM file.
