iRemit, Jollibee partner to foster family ties
with the Salu-Salo Padala Treat
I-Remit, Inc. (iRemit), the country’s largest non-bank Filipino-owned
remittance company, and Jollibee, the biggest fast food chain, have
forged an alliance allowing overseas Filipino workers to send meals to
their families and beneficiaries in the Philippines.
According to Harris Jacildo, iRemit president and COO, the partnership
will help strengthen ties between Filipinos abroad and their families or
beneficiaries in the Philippines through the ‘Jollibee Salu-Salo Padala
Treat Mula Sa iRemit’ program. “With the increasing number of Filipinos
leaving for other countries, this project presents an invaluable
opportunity to help bridge and strengthen family togetherness: a
priceless pursuit that is important for both companies.”
For its part, Jollibee also sees this tie-up as an opportunity to affirm its
thrust of enhancing bonding moments among Filipino families even
across geographical boundaries. “By treating their loved ones in the
Philippines with their favorite Jollibee meals whether during special
occasions or simple family gatherings, our OFWs can still contribute and
be part of these family moments, even when they are miles away from
home,” said Ernesto Tanmantiong, Jollibee president.
Fostering family ties is a passion shared by both companies. By
partnering with the most popular and well-loved fast food chain in the
country, iRemit has gone beyond providing a simple channel where
Filipinos overseas can send their remittances to the Philippines. “Aside

from providing fast, reliable and secure remittance services, we are
happy that this latest offering will enable us to help our OFW clients
connect with their loved ones via a surprise food remittance delivery ,”
said Bansan Choa, the company’s chairman and chief executive
officer.
iRemit’s new drive encourages a ‘surprise-padala’ of OFW to their
families here in the country in the form of meals and party packages
which their beneficiaries will receive through Jollibee’s Express Delivery
service.
iRemit’s customers can just go to any iRemit foreign office or tie-up in
Asia-Pacific, North America, and Europe, choose from a variety of
meal and party packages and pay for their purchases. Using its
nationwide network of more than 660 stores, Jollibee will then deliver
these food treats right at the doorstep of their beneficiaries in the
Philippines. For areas where food delivery is not available, the recipients
can enjoy their Jollibee treats at the nearest Jollibee store.
iRemit and Jollibee have set a system in place to make sure that the
deliveries are complete and are on time. Both companies are focusing
on accuracy and prompt delivery especially with the anticipated
surge of orders placed not only during family celebrations and
occasions but even during ordinary days when OFWs just feel like
sending a surprise ‘padala’ to their loved ones. With Jollibee’s strict

In a recent report, iRemit also expanded its remittance business in Syria
to further accelerate the availability of money transfer and other
financial services to overseas Filipinos.
