Travis E. Parker Field
Travis E. Parker
Travis E. Parker Field is in its fourth decade as the home of the Statesmen and as one of the top facilities in NCAA Division II. In
31 seasons Delta State is an overall 97-65-7 at Parker Field.
Formerly known as Delta Field, the 8,000 seat stadium was completed in time for the 1970 season. In 1984, the stadium was
renamed to honor former Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning Board of Trustees member, Travis E. Parker, a tireless
supporter of Delta State University and the Delta area communities.
The current facility replaced the “old” Delta Field, which is located between Sillers Coliseum and the Hugh Ellis Walker Alumni-
Foundation House on the Delta State campus. The Statesmen have enjoyed a 195-105-15 mark at home.
The two-level press facility includes booths for radio, film, coaches, and working press, as well as a snack kitchen and restroom.
The press box is completely enclosed, with the exception of the second-level film deck, and is climate controlled for year-round
comfort and convenience.
As part of Delta State University’s continued support of collegiate athletics, several hundred chairback seats were added in
1993. The 2001 season brought a newly added picnic area in the southwest corner of Parker Field with renovations on the press
box scheduled for 2005-2006, as part of the continuing stadium face-lift.
Coach Rick Rhoades would like to thank the following for their support of Statesmen Football: Dr. Hilpert and Dr. Teague, Green
& White Booster Club, Cleveland Knights of Columbus for the Flag Plaza, Ned Mitchell, Kossman GM Supercenter, Paul
Janoush for sponsoring the staff retreat, G&W Fund donors to football and all the great fans of DSU!
