<strong>Statesmen</strong> Sports Network<br />

Delta State University sports fans have <strong>the</strong> opportunity <strong>to</strong><br />

follow <strong>Statesmen</strong> <strong>and</strong> Lady <strong>Statesmen</strong> athletics statewide on<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Statesmen</strong> Sports Network!<br />

Starting with <strong>the</strong> 2005 football season, Delta State athletic<br />

broadcasts are carried in numerous markets throughout <strong>the</strong><br />

state <strong>and</strong> more stations are on <strong>the</strong> way!<br />

This season SSN will broadcast over 100 regular season<br />

single <strong>and</strong> double-header games. This includes all GSC<br />

weekend series <strong>and</strong> select non-conference games.<br />

In The Booth<br />

Matt Jones returns for his fifth season as<br />

play-by-play announcer for <strong>the</strong> <strong>Statesmen</strong>. The<br />

Tuscaloosa, Ala. native came <strong>to</strong> DSU in 2001<br />

from East Mississippi Community College.<br />

Jones earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social<br />

Science Education/His<strong>to</strong>ry in 2003 from Delta<br />

State University. He is currently pursuing a<br />

Master’s degree in<br />

in Sociology <strong>and</strong> Community Development.<br />

Jones currently directs <strong>the</strong> Athletic Marketing <strong>and</strong> Media<br />

Relations Office at DSU. Under this umbrella, he oversees <strong>the</strong><br />

day-<strong>to</strong>-day operations of <strong>the</strong> media relations, <strong>Statesmen</strong><br />

Sports Network, <strong>and</strong> athletic marketing offices.<br />

Prior <strong>to</strong> coming <strong>to</strong> DSU, Jones h<strong>and</strong>led play-by-play duties<br />

for <strong>the</strong> University of Alabama baseball <strong>and</strong> women’s basketball<br />

teams, <strong>and</strong> served as Sports Direc<strong>to</strong>r for ClearChannel Radio of<br />

Tuscaloosa.<br />

Jones is married <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> former Meg E. Warren of DeKalb.<br />

The couple reside in Clevel<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Richard Webster returns for his 11th<br />

season as <strong>the</strong> color analyst for <strong>the</strong> Gridiron<br />

<strong>Statesmen</strong>. The Clarksdale native is a 1971<br />

graduate of Delta State University. He is also<br />

a former <strong>Statesmen</strong> golfer.<br />

Webster has served as <strong>the</strong> “voice” of Lee<br />

Academy football for many years. He is also a<br />

former contribu<strong>to</strong>r <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Clarksdale Press-<br />

Register. Webster is married <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> former Jane Brunini of<br />

Clarksdale. They have three sons, Tripp, Jason <strong>and</strong> Alan. He<br />

is currently employed by Cannon Ford of Clarksdale.<br />

Lane Quin<strong>to</strong>n will begin his first season as <strong>the</strong> sideline<br />

reporter for <strong>the</strong> <strong>Statesmen</strong> Sports Network. He has served as<br />

color analyst for <strong>Statesmen</strong> baseball <strong>the</strong> last three years.<br />

The Clevel<strong>and</strong> native is a life-long fan/observer of Delta<br />

State athletics <strong>and</strong> a 2002 graduate of Delta State University.<br />

He is currently seeking a Master’s of Business Administration<br />

from Delta State University. He is currently single <strong>and</strong> resides<br />

in Clevel<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Jim Ervin is in his first season as executive producer for<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Statesmen</strong> Sports Network. Ervin’s duties include on-site<br />

engineering, pre-game preparation, in-game spotting as well<br />

as coordination of SSN affiliates. Ervin is a <strong>2000</strong> graduate of<br />

DSU. He is single <strong>and</strong> resides in Boyle.<br />

<strong>Statesmen</strong> Game Day Schedule<br />

Each Delta State University football game this season will<br />

be broadcast on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Statesmen</strong> Sports Network. The seven<br />

station network covers almost all of Mississippi.<br />

Each broadcast will begin approximately 30 minutes<br />

before <strong>the</strong> scheduled kickoff of <strong>the</strong> game. The complete<br />
