Jerry Mack enters his second season as a graduate assistant
coach at Delta State University. Mack will serve as the
running backs coach in 2005.
The Memphis native was a standout wide receiver at
Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark. from 2000-2003.
The thee-year letterman was named to the Athletic Director’s
and Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll his sophomore
through senior seasons.
He is currently pursuring a Master’s degree in Education
with an emphasis on Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
Mack is married to the former Starlet Collier of Mariana, Ark.
The couple have one son, Jaden (1). The Macks reside in
Cleveland.

Justin Franks enters his first season as a graduate
assistant on Coach Rick Rhoades staff. Franks will coach
assist Coach Davis with the secondary this season.
Franks comes to DSU after serving as a student coach at
Southeastern Louisiana in 2004. He was the primary
“Where Champions Play”
quality control coach for head coach Hal Mumme. Franks
was also responsible for all aspects of the SELA
videography staff.
Prior to serving as an assistant at SELA, Franks was
the cornerbacks coach at Independence High (La.) in
2004 and served as the defensive line coach at IHS in
2003. In 2002, Franks was an assistant at Springfield
(La.) High School. There Franks served as the offensive
and defensive line coach.
Franks received his Bachelor’s degree in 2004 from
University of Southeastern Louisiana. The Ponchatoula,
La. native graduated from Ponchatoula High in 2000. He
was a four year starter on the PHS offensive line.
Franks is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in
Sports Administration.

Aaron Acree enters his first season as a graduate
assistant coach on Coach Rick Rhoades’ staff. Acree will
serve as the primary graduate assistant for defense and
will help Coach Ron Roberts in preparing the defensive
game plan.
The Norman, Okla. native comes to DSU after a twoyear
stint as defensive coordinator at University of the
Americas in Puebla, Mexico. During Acree’s coaching
career, the OU grad has coached defensive backs,
linebackers and special teams.
Prior to his stint at the University of the Americas, Acree
served as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive
Backs Coach at Bethany College (Lindsburg, Kan.) during
the 2002 season.
Acree began his coaching career as an assistant at
Norman (Okla.) High School. In 2000, Acree coached the
NHS freshmen linebackers. In 2001, Acree moved to
Fairview High School in Boulder, Colo. He served as the
JV defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach. FHS
finished the season as state runner-ups in 2001.
Acree is a 2001 graduate of the University of Oklahoma
with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a minor in
Coaching. He is single and resides in Cleveland.
