vel in fore altero ad 1.1 cm. longa, 1.5 mm. lata; filamenta pallida, ad 6<br />

mm. longa, antheris pollineque albidis; discus crenulatus; ovarium circa mar<br />

ginem concavum, medio vix, vel demum leviter, elevatum, lobis inconspi<br />

cuis; stigmata 5, gracillima, 7 mm. longa; capsula supra plana, exangulata vel<br />

senectissima visa, supra per 1 mm. elevata.<br />

One plant seen consists of 15 bodies, forming a semiglobose mass or<br />

cushion raised well above the ground. Fl. Mart.–Apr. 1932.<br />

<strong>Lithops</strong> Inae. (Plate 18.) Plant growths 1 – 2 –1 1 – 2 cm. long, 7 mm. broad, turbini<br />

form; the two leaves slightly subequal, convex or plane; upper surface ei<br />

ther with a number of irregular buff coloured islands and in these islands<br />

a number of minute white dots; the transparent area forming a confluent<br />

window or the whole upper surface buff coloured, very nearly opaque, the<br />

window being scarcely visible; in both cases the upper surface is covered with<br />

a large number of irregularly distributed slightly raised, round or oblong, dark<br />

blood red or red shiny dots, these dots just visible to the naked eye and ap<br />
