Create Request
Perform create request
in batch
System Control Maintenance
Specify whether to display the Comments panel when creating a
promotion request and enforce the entry of a descriptive comment.
Y: Enables the Comments panel and requires entry of a comment. This
is the default value.
N: Disables the Comments panel.
This feature is mutually exclusive of promoting objects associated with an
issue or design request, whereby the comments associated with the
primary issue or DR are added to the promotion request.
Specify whether to create promotion requests interactively or in batch.
Causes less interactive edit processing and expedites the create request
process by placing most edit checks, validation, and processing in the
submitted job. Useful when promoting multiple items on a request or
when issuing multiple requests.
Y: Request processing occurs in batch. This is the default value.
N: Request processing occurs interactively.
Optimize PFs promotion Specify whether to optimize the promotion of physical files. For details on
this feature, see the MKS Implementer 2006 User Guide.
Y: Optimizes physical file promotions to reduce processing time.
N: Does not optimize physical file promotions (uses traditional file
promotion).
Maintain X-env related
objects
Specify whether to maintain related objects across environments and
allow Implementer to automatically generate secondary requests for each
environment related objects are found in.
Y: Enables cross-environment related object processing and
secondary requests for cross-environment related objects.
N: Disables cross-environment related object processing and
automatic secondary requests. This is the default value.
After you change this value from N to Y and press ENTER to update your
selection, a message instructs you to run the Build List function. Type Y to
activate the feature, or N to return without activating the feature. For
details, see “Maintain X-env related objects” on page 69.
NOTE For details on related object processing based on the development path for
QA environments, see “Add related objects from path” on page 72.
System Control Maintenance Field Descriptions: Panel 2
Field Description
When maintaining cross-environment related objects, specify how
Implementer handles a primary request if an error occurs while
generating secondary requests for cross-environment related objects.
Requires the Maintain X-env related objects field set to Y.
Y: Primary request continues processing if errors occur while
generating secondary requests.
N: Primary request ends in failure if an error occurs while generating
secondary requests.
