Glossary
reset authorities Reset authorities is an Implementer function that revokes all object
authorities for the libraries as specified in the environment, and then grants object authorities
based on the authorities from the environment authority table.
sequential development Sequential development is the term used when all locks for a
member/object follow the defined standard development path and never deviate from the
defined workflow. See also, non sequential development and concurrent development.
session model list A session model list is the default model object list assigned when you
begin an AllFusion 2E editing session. The model object list usually defaults to your OS/400
user profile.
You should not use the default session model list as a check out model object list. Instead,
change the default value using the Edit Model Profile Editing options on the Access to model
field value *DSNR on the Change AllFusion 2E User Capabilities panel or the AllFusion 2E
Designer (*DSNR) menu. You can also have model users create and use their own object
model list.
stage library A stage library is a work library used to prepare (stage) each object before it
moves into the target environment. The setting of object authorities, physical and logical
members, and physical file data occurs while the object is in this library. A stage library exists
while the move is in process.
step A step refers to one of the up to four phases required to complete a request. In order,
the steps are as follows:
Model copy, only applies to AllFusion 2E special environments.
Export, only applies to LANSA special environments.
Compile, the compile step is optional.
Distribute, only applies to requests that contain remote target environments.
Move, required for every request.
subdirectory A subdirectory refers to a directory and its contents that are stored within
another directory. Subdirectories are included in the support Implementer provides for IFS
objects. The term corresponds to the OS/400 term, folder. In Implementer, this is referred to
as a directory. See also IFS directory.
surrogate A surrogate is the internal identifier assigned to each AllFusion 2E model object.
target environment group A target environment group is a group of environments
promoted to at the same time. A target environment group is used when you create a
promotion request to promote to more than one environment, eliminating the need to select
each environment separately every time a promotion request is created.
trigger A trigger is a set of actions that are executed automatically whenever a specified
event occurs to a specified SQL-based table. An event can be an insert, update, or delete
operation. The trigger can be run either before or after the event. Triggers are used to
