Appendix C: Converting DesignTracker Data to MKS Integrity
Post Conversion Considerations
454
Review and perform the following tasks after you have finished converting all DesignTracker
data to MKS Integrity:
Modify converted values
If the alternate value was used to handle undefined values, in MKS Integrity, query for
issues that used the alternate values for fields and modify the values as needed. For
details, see the MKS Integrity Server 2006 Administration Guide.
Set all users to use MKS Integrity
In Implementer, verify the appropriate users are set to use MKS Integrity for issue
management. For details, see “Set a User’s Default Issue Management System” on
page 253.
Start using the new features
When you have successfully completed the data conversion, you can begin using the
new features as described in the MKS Implementer 2006 User Guide.
Each converted DR and SR retains a permanent record of the MKS Integrity location and
issue number it converted to. Likewise, displaying a converted issue in MKS Integrity
identifies the DR it was created from, if that field is set as recommended. This information
provides an audit trail that is useful for cross-referencing a converted DR or SR with its
corresponding issue in MKS Integrity, and vice versa.
This feature requires the Issue Management System field for your Implementer user profile
set to 2=DesignTracker. For this purpose it may be helpful to create a secondary user profile
for a few users—one profile set to MKS Integrity and the second profile set to DesignTracker.
Or, you can create a single default profile for DesignTracker users to use. For details, see “Set
a User’s Default Issue Management System” on page 253.
To display the MKS Integrity URL for a converted DR or SR
1 From the DesignTracker Menu, use option 1, Design Requests, or option 3, Service
Requests, to display the respective Work with panel.
2 Select the DR or SR with option 5=Display, and press ENTER to display the request.
The MKS Integrity URL field displays up to 120 characters of text that wraps to the next
line as needed. As shown in the next illustration, the URL indicates the location and
issue number the converted request mapped to. (A non converted DR or SR displays the
text Not converted.)

Hooray! Your file is uploaded and ready to be published.
