Command Usage Examples
Generating and Configuring the Conversion Properties File
Issues Logged by user.
Default create user specified in the ICVTDT command.
Change Packages User associated with the DR entity, if the user is enrolled in MKS Integrity.
Development resource initials associated with the DR entity, if the user is a
valid Implementer user and enrolled in MKS Integrity.
DRs Logged By user, if the user is a valid Implementer user and enrolled in
MKS Integrity.
Default create user specified in the ICVTDT command.
First, the ICVTDT command is used to generate and validate the setup defined in the
conversion properties file for DRs and SRs. Data is not converted. An example of this
command is:
ICVTDT MODE(*EDIT) TYPE(*BOTH) DFTCRTUSR(CVTUSER)
Next, the ICVTDT command is used to convert a subset of DRs to MKS Integrity issues.
This example assumes that any errors reported in the conversion properties file as a
result of issuing the command in the first example are resolved. If any DRs are
associated with an invalid user profile, Implementer assigns the MKS Integrity user
defined for the default user profile CVTUSER. An example of this command is:
ICVTDT MODE(*CONVERT) TYPE(*DR) DFTCRTUSR(CVTUSER)
Last, the ICVTDT command is used to convert the user’s defined subset of DRs and SRs
to MKS Integrity issues. An example of this command is:
ICVTDT MODE(*CONVERT) TYPE(*BOTH) DFTCRTUSR(CVTUSER)
Generating and Configuring the Conversion
Properties File
Before converting DesignTracker data, you must map the existing data to corresponding
values in MKS Integrity. This is accomplished by fist generating the Implementer conversion
properties file. After generating the file, you must map the DesignTracker fields to the
MKS Integrity fields.
If your DesignTracker setup changes you can edit the conversion properties file, or if you
want to completely recreate the conversion property file from scratch, either delete or rename
the existing file on the Implementer Server and then rerun the edit process.
After reviewing the following information, you can perform the task on page 446 that
explains how to generate, edit, update, and save the file as needed for the data conversion.
