WebSphere Development Studio Client for iSeries Integration
After performing an Implementer check out, the member is opened in the default LPEX editor
for modification. Once the changes are complete, the member is ready for compiling and
promotion—all from within WDSc.
The types of users that benefit from using this integration include native iSeries developers
who use RSE, and native iSeries developers who use iSeries Projects.
To highlight some of the integration features, developers have:
Implementer-specific, context-sensitive menu options on the Remote System Explorer
menu in WDSc that provide direct access to the Implementer SCM functions of check
out, reject, promotion, and processing. This includes access to the Implementer compile
function from within WDSc, ensuring compiles retain all existing attributes like when
run from the Implementer Workbench.
Flexibility with process changes, where any SCM process can be performed on the
Implementer Workbench or from within WDSc. Team members can use their interface of
choice, regardless of which interface other team members use or which interface was
used for a prior process. For example, you can check out through the Implementer
Workbench, and then edit and compile through WDSc.
