Chapter 6: Third Party Integrations
Environment Setup
358
Once you define environments for PeopleSoft World integration, any new object codes you
create support the PeopleSoft World compiles. The environments include both PeopleSoft
World object codes (that call the PeopleSoft World compiler) and standard object codes (that
call the OS/400 compiler). You can optionally deactivate the standard object codes if they are
not used. For details, see “Deactivating Standard Object Codes” on page 361.
NOTE If you create an environment group for PeopleSoft World soft coding items,
the primary environment must be a PeopleSoft World environment.
To set up PeopleSoft World special environments
1 Set up standard environments to manage PeopleSoft World applications.
2 To associate the standard environment with a PeopleSoft World common library, use
option 16 in the Work with Environments panel. Once the existing environment is
associated with a PeopleSoft World common library, it becomes a special PeopleSoft
World special environment. The common library name you specify must exist
(Implementer does not create a common library).
To identify this as a special environment, PeopleSoft displays in the Special
Environment field on the second detailed Change Environment panel. If you remove the
common library name, the environment type reverts to Standard.
3 From the Change Environment panel, press F13=Library List to change the compile
library list in the environment definition to include the following libraries:
Implementer PeopleSoft World Interface library (IMJDE).
PeopleSoft World product libraries (JDFSRC, JDFDATA, and JDFOBJ).
IMPORTANT Your interactive library list must have library IMJDE above the
PeopleSoft World product libraries. The PeopleSoft World common library does not
need to be on the environment library list; when it is defined on the PeopleSoft
World setup panel, Implementer adds it when needed.
Setting Up for Archiving Soft Coding Items
You can archive PeopleSoft World soft coding items such as DreamWriters and Data
Dictionaries into an archive common library you specify for the environment. Implementer
also supports selective rollback of the archived soft coding items.
An archive environment must be a PeopleSoft World special environment that has an
associated archive common library.
