Chapter 6: Third Party Integrations
Requirements
338
Deployment Packaging
Easily create change packages of Notes databases to deploy using the menu or from
command line interfaces in Implementer. Initiate package deployment using the
deployment server—configurable to automatically install change packages on each
target server—with no intervention required on your part.
Customizable scheduling of change packages allows you to install changes when you
need them. For change packages deployed to multiple servers, you can schedule each
package to run at a specific time based on the local needs of each server. Upon
completion, status information posts back to the deployment server.
Synchronized With Back Office Development
Implementer for Domino allows you to deploy changes consisting of both Lotus Notes
content and integrated back office changes. This ensures synchronous deployment of
your RPG or COBOL based business logic and DB2/400 databases (integrated with
Notes applications) to your testing or production servers. This deployment architecture
ensures a minimum of downtime for your applications.
Synchronized With Other e-Business Initiatives
Implementer for Domino manages your e-Business development needs when they
expand beyond Notes applications. As with back office development, it also allows for
management of your Java executables; static HTML, XML, and XSL; and graphics (such
as JPEG and GIF files), along with your Notes development.
This Implementer release is certified to work with Domino release 6.0. The requirements for
these integrated features are as follows:
Implementer 2006 for deployment of Lotus NSFs and NTFs. Implementer requires
OS/400 V5R1 or later, or i5/OS V5R3 or later.
Lotus Notes R4.6 or later (including Notes Client, Domino Designer, and Domino
Administrator).
Domino Server R4.6 or later for deployment. The Domino Server provides the easiest
and most flexible use of the Lotus Notes database and the Implementer change
management software by using the same platform to create, change, move, and deploy
the Lotus NSFs and NTFs.
This integration expands to Domino Servers on platforms other than the iSeries. For
example, you can run a Domino Server on a Windows NT platform to create Lotus NSFs
and NTFs, which you can place under Implementer change management control using a
mapped network drive or shared network folder.
Internet Explorer 4.0 or later, or Netscape 4.5 or later.
