Chapter 6: Third Party Integrations
AS/SET Integration
316
The Implementer Adapter for AS/SET is a separately licensed product that manages AS/SET
definitions and generated traditional objects independently.
You can check out AS/SET definitions, make modifications, and promote to QA and
production to complete the cycle. Implementer automatically handles locking the definitions
and ensures proper check in by promoting in a controlled fashion. An audit trail is
maintained of all activities to the definitions. Implementer’s inquiries and reports include the
AS/SET definitions and generated objects you manage.
There are specific commands to copy, delete, and verify existence of AS/SET definitions from
within Implementer. These functions are used to manage definitions and as standalone
commands.
Setting Up the Integration
The setup activities necessary to handle AS/SET applications are as follows:
Install AS/SET on the system.
Change the library list in the job description (MWIJOBD) to include the AS/SET product
libraries.
IMPORTANT You must include the AS/SET libraries in the job description to ensure
the promotion of AS/SET definitions does not abnormally end.
Include the AS/SET product libraries ASSETO, ASSETF, and ASSETGPL on your
interactive library list to manage an AS/SET definition.
In System Control Maintenance, set the AS/SET installed field to Y.
Set up standard environments to manage AS/SET applications.
Set the Compile required field to N if you use this environment only for AS/SET
definitions.
Enable the “Remove member in from library/environment” feature in Work with
Environments for AS/SET definitions.
Associate the standard environment with an application set where the definitions for the
environment reside. Once the existing environment is associated with an application set,
it becomes a special AS/SET environment. The indication of this special environment
displays on the second detailed Change Environments panel. The application set name
you specify must exist (Implementer does not create application sets). If the application
set name is blank, the environment type reverts to Standard on the Change
Environment panel.
